She gave him a smile, that’s why it is meant just to sit on and take naps its not meant for full sleeping needs. She yawned and reached back to rub her back, then she looked up at the sky and kind of zoned out but with the shake of her head she caught his words, yes im sorry about yesterday also. She spoke softly turning away and then looked off across the stallions pasture, in which Barbary was storming across tossing his head and kicking up his heels, Caillou raised his head to watch to, glad he was out here and not in there. He stepped near his owner one step at a time until her could, touch her with out any warning he licked the side of her face, the whole side of her face. She jumped and turned to face him, Gross Caillou just gross. She wiped the side of her face and scratched the stallions neck and then his chest, a smile on her face she was glad to see he was feeling better. Barbary finally reached the lower part of the pasture and trotted the fence line, head raised occasionally tossing it, he snorted and was trying to get the mares attention, how ever Caillou put himself in front of her and Barbary. Who moved off in frustration, Caillou came to stand next to his owner, who sighed I think I know whats best for our little friend Caillou I will set up a time when we get back to the barn. Yep it was most defiantly time, it had been drug out to long and despite having good lines she could not take him any more, he was going to hurt or worse kill someone. She shook her head, Caillou began to walk back to the barn. She shook her head, I guess I will see you in a bit he wants to go back now. She smiled and then head off with Caillou, she would give him a full bath now but first, she clipped him into the cross ties and then took out her cell phone and made the call, he said he could do today and would be here in ten minuets and so the deed would be done. Well lets hope this works Caillou im only trying to make this farm safer and I cant have a wild and crazy stallion living here, only the calm ones like you. She spoke softly, she waited at the entrance to the barn having caught the beast who was now pacing in his stall. The vet soon arrived and with the two of them they got the animal down safely after he had been sedated and soon enough the procedure was done, thanks again. She shook his hand, he should be waking up soon and then give him time to let it ware off and then two days of rest should do it. She nodded, he pulled out of the driveway, going to check on Barbary who was still down, she shook her head and went to Caillou and turned the water on letting it run across his legs.

Flit walked toward the stallion pasture, wondering who was over there, forgetting about Barbary. All of a sudden her vision was blocked, and she remembered. That stallion in there was not one to mess with. She went back to grazing, watching as the two walked off together. She did not feel like going back in her stall, so kept grazing. Pablo seated himself under a tree, grabbing a stick and making marks in the grass to keep himself entertained while Flit grazed. He saw the vet pull up, and decided that staying away from the barns sounded like the best idea. He remembered when Fuego was…yeah that. It calmed him down some from the wild stallion that went after every mare, no matter breed or appearance, when they were in heat. However Pablo still figured that he was getting back at him for doing such a horrendous thing. He leaned back against the tree and slowly his eyelids closed as he started to snooze, his head tilted back against the bark. Flit just looked on at her owner before rolling her eyes and going back to grazing. She figured she could get away with sneaking away, but she did not want to do that. She had enough adventure for a few days. She had to keep on Pablo’s good side for now because who knew what other foolish things she was going to do and she wanted to stay here, not go back down to New Mexico. [/blockquote]

Sammie herd rustling from Barbary’s stall just as she was rubbing in the special shampoo into Caillou’s coat. Alright pretty I will be right back, the stuff needed to soak in and it was not like it would bother his skin. She walked up to Barbary’s stall, he was standing awkwardly, and when he went to take a step he wobbled and almost went down. She shook her head, easy boy don’t push yourself to hard, she would have to clean the stall out but for now she wanted to give him time to find his legs. Sammie walked back to Caillou and turned the water on letting it go over his legs then the rest of his body, Caillou did not mind all the attention in fact he liked getting baths, she grabbed the mane and tail wash, now you wonder why the horse looked so good, Caillou whickered and the scent stuff, after this there was detangler to spray and fly spray after everything. Got to keep my boy looking good, cant have him running around looking like the monster my father use to tell me about. She chuckled and kissed the tip of his nose, he lipped the air as she rinsed him off and squeegee him dry, spraying the detangler into his mane she brushed threw it and then moved on to his tail which was a lot worse then his mane, next she sprayed him with fly spray and then pulled the last carrot out of her pocket, there all done. He whinnied and tossed his head, kind of getting a prance in his step. She un clipped him and lead him into his stall. Barbary had found his legs again and she walked in and clipped the lead rope on, look at my handsome new gelding, she lead him out and put him into the cross stalls before cleaning out the stall, which mean everything now she had to wait till the stall was totally dry before she could put bedding down. Sammie filled a bucket and sponged everything off his legs, you don’t get to live in this barn any more you have to go to the other barn. She unclipped him and lead him over to the mare and gelding barn, putting him in his new stall. There that should do it, She yawned and walked down the driveway back to Pablo and Flit, when she reached him well it was cute because he was asleep. She smiled and waited.

Pablo breathed deeply as he laid there, his mind carrying him away into dreamland. His mind carried him toward the future, where a wedding was in place. Where a trip to the hospital meant a good thing. Where there were two rockers on the porch, staring out at the sunset. He was all of a sudden jolted awake when something fell on his face. Wiping it off, he saw what was on his hand. Wet grass. Looking to his right, he saw Flit’s legs and then looked up to see Flit staring at him before more grass was dropped. Eww! Flit! He exclaimed, wiping off the grass again. Looking to his left, he noticed Sammie. How’s Barbary? He asked, getting up and stretching out his muscles. It was not the best position to sleep in at all. Gathering up the lead line, he pulled Flit’s head back up. Thank you for the grass shower, now I need a real one. He muttered to her, walking toward Sammie. It was time to get the mare washed and put back in her stall until dinner. [/blockquote]

Sammie watched Flit with an amused look upon her face, the mare really knew how to get what she wanted and well how to get the attention of the one she wanted. Sammie chuckled at Pablos reaction, Well he is still finding his barrings but he can walk straight at least he is settling in nicely to his new stall. Now Caillou is alone in the stallion barn but you know it wont stay that way for long. Sammie walked towards Pablo and took his free hand, before you touch anything in that house you will take a shower I am not about finding grass around the house. She smiled, she yawned slightly and looked up the driveway to see the puppies playing tug a war with one of there toys, it looked like it was hanging on by a mere thread fluffing was laying in the driveway, she just shook her head, remind me to give them there new toy tonight. They began to walk but at Flits pace which she had no problem with because it gave her more time with Pablo.

He started walking toward the barn with her. Ya know what Flit, I think you need to get some grass on her too. He said, dropping Sammie’s hand and picking some grass before throwing it at her. See, now you need to take a shower too. You’re not allowed to touch anything either until you get a shower. He took her hand again, looking over at Flit to make sure she was okay. She just walked along, her ears turned away from them as she listened to other things. They finally made it to where he was going to give Flit a wash and just dropped her lead line. She just stood there and cocked her hoof, her lids already drifting over her eyes. He went and turned the hose on. Turning it toward Sammie, he sprayed it, a mischievous smile on his face. Sorry, had to test the temperature of the water. Going back to Flit, he started with her legs. She just stood there, really not caring. Flashing the water at her head, she threw it up a little bit. Just making sure you were still awake. Slowly working up the legs, he watched as the dirt from the day before rinsed off, washing away some of the physical memories. The cut on her leg was not looking nearly as bad when it was sprayed. Maybe he would put her out in the pasture tomorrow. [/blockquote]

She rolled her eyes as he threw grass at her, mmm I guess I have to now and live by my own rules that I set for you and don’t think you will get off so easily I will find a way to get back at you. She smirked as they continued to the barn, once there he turned the hose on her and she screamed slightly as the water hit her, Pablo that is not very nice. She flicked the water from her hands and then walked to Barbary’s stall, looking in he was standing in the far corner head lowered sleeping, still effecting you huh? Well rest is a good thing. She entered his stall and checked him over just his back legs to make sure he had not broking it open. She patted his neck and walked out, going back to Pablo she walked up behind him and shoved a handful of hay down his shirt, sorry it just had to happen and for good measures. She put another handful down his shirt, now you look like a scarecrow. She chuckled im going to go shower and beat you to it, don’t have to much fun wail im gone. She winked and walked out and to the house once inside she went straight upstairs and turned the water on, soon she hopped in, she had kept her word and had not touched a thing. She was going to make this a long shower.

Pablo this time started to focus on the task at hand, and quickly forgot anyone else who was around. He was meticulous, making sure to get every spot. He started to sing low as he worked, spraying off her shoulder before spraying at the barrel and starting to wash it. Flit just lowered her head and started to fall asleep, not really caring about the frigid water that kept pouring out of the hose and onto her skin. She trusted Pablo not to hurt her. He started spraying the tail, squeezing it every once in a while to get some of the excess water out. He worked on the other side, and by the time he was done he was covered in horse hair and dirt. He squeeged her off before letting her loose in the indoor arena. He would rather her be covered in sand than in mud. He did not want to lock her back up in the stall, it just seemed like an unjust thing. Walking back out he grabbed Fuego and Sweets and led them to the pasture. Fuego would not calm down and was like a little colt on his first big journey and kept darting to the side and ahead of them. He unclipped their lead lines and watched as his gelding took off, kicking and bucking, tearing across the pasture. Sweets just walked away, lowering her head to graze. Locking the gate, he double checked the lock to make sure it was all good before going to the mare and gelding barn, grabbing a wheelbarrow and pitchfork along the way. He would clean out the stalls before going up and taking a shower. No point in taking one now because he would just be all sweaty again. [/blockquote]

She finally got out of the shower and wrapped a towel around her body. The puppies were grabbing and tugging at it, No. Sammie spoke sharply; This is not a tug toy. She rolled her eyes as they did not stop, she nearly lost it once. Making it to the walk in closet she shut the door. The two sat and pawed and whinnied at it, she quickly dressed and exited, they looked at her and started jumping on her. She chuckled and walked downstairs, going to the kitchen she washed her hands and took out some veggies and started to cut them, she was going to make stir fry for dinner and chicken sandwiches for lunch. Getting the last of the veggies together she put them into a bowl and back into the fridge, taking the chicken out she put some seasonings on them and then stuck them into the oven. She yawned and flipped the tv on, planning to catch the afternoon news but decided she did not to watch it, instead she turned it off and turned the radio on, the dogs began to bark and howl along and she chuckled. Hank Lulu come here. she was making a vanilla cake for the hell of it, she had just put it into the pan and had spoonful for the dogs, sit she spoke. Both sat and she lowered the spoons, if ever one has seen such greedy dogs it would be them, there was cake batter on there face, the floor and the cupboards. She cleaned everything up, took the chicken out and put it on the stove and put the cake in. She grabbed some bread and put some dressing on that she had made before and topped it off with lettuce and then set them on the counter. Don’t you two dare think about touching the sandwiches. She spoke, they whimpered and lowered there heads. She turned to check on the cake, she was quite an amazing cook and the cake was done by scratch and homemade, she would make the frosting later. She took out a pitcher of lemonade and pored two glasses, setting those on the counter. She was done cooking for now and was ready to sit down and enjoy lunch before she had to finish the cake.

It took forever, but soon enough Pablo was done with the stalls. Fuego’s stall was not like a stall at all, but more like mountains. He had tried to spread the chips evenly because he did not want Fuego to hurt himself, but he knew he would keep on doing it, and somehow manage to escape injury. Sweets’ and Flit’s stalls were just fine. He dumped the wheelbarrow out, clapping his hands together to get some of the dirt off them. He had some dirt streaked across his cheek and his clothes were an utter mess. But the day’s work was done, for now. He looked in the barn, making sure that he had gotten everything. With a nod of approval to himself, he walked toward the house, dusting off his pants as much as possible. He knew it was a useless attempt, but he tried anyway. He did not want to get dirt everywhere. Taking off his shoes outside, he just kept them out there until he could clean them off. Walking in, he smelled the cake that was being made and the two dogs that were wanting the cake and the other food. Smells good. No, it smells great. He said, a small smile on his face. He was going to jump into the shower and get all this dirt off of him before even thinking about eating. Climbing upstairs he took a quick shower, letting the hot water beat out all the tension in his muscles before getting out and putting on a new pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Walking back downstairs, he looked around, worry starting to creep into his mind about Bandit. Where was that little dog? He hadn’t seen him since yesterday. After lunch he would go out and look for him. Grabbing a bottle of water out of the fridge, he looked outside toward the beautiful day, his mind wandering away as he went deep in thought. The oven beeped and she took the cake out, poking the center with a toothpick it came up clean. Sammie pushed it back so the puppies could not reach it. She still had not seen Bandit and wondered if Pablo was getting worried yet or not. She sighed and washed her hands, wiping them on the towel, Pablo walked in at that time. She smiled back, Thank you I don’t slave over making food if no one is going to like it besides me. She spoke and turned around as he went upstairs to shower. I suppose you two want a treat will that get you away from this kitchen? She chuckled and opened a cupboard grabbing two treats, Sit she spoke, both dogs sat, Down. They followed command and then she reward them, Why don’t you two go outside and play and let us eat in peace. She walked to the back door, the puppies following behind, she had a nice area fenced in and perfect for dogs. She let Hank and Lulu into the area and they started rough housing, I don’t want to hear any whining or yelping and I sure as hell don’t want to see blood. She shut the sliding door and walked back over to the kitchen but sat down on the barstool, she moved the glasses and plates over, Everything is ready when you are. She spoke, taking a glance outside but smiling she saw that they were just laying on the deck enjoying the sun. she turned back and picked up her sandwich and took a bit, So did you finish everything you wanted to get done? She asked, waiting.

I watched as a couple birds flitted past the window on their way to merriment and joy. I took another sip of the cool water that was in my hand, the condensation running down onto my hand. It felt too cold to the touch, but soon matched my temperature. I glanced over my shoulder as the dogs were pushed out of the house, and I could hear them out there and a small smile came to my face before it disappeared once again, knowing my own dog could be out there somewhere, dead, alone, scared, in the barn, in the pasture. Anywhere in this big world that we all call home. Gosh, I am having such sobering thoughts today. It did not seem like my usual self, so I pushed them to the side and turned away from the window and toward the best thing in my life: Sammie. Yeah pretty much, just gotta find Bandit. Now that I think about it, it seems like the perfect name for such a dog. He definitely liked to steal everything in sight, especially anything with Caillou’s sent on it. Walking to the other sandwich I nibbled on it, knowing full well it would be good no matter what. Worry starting kneading at my stomach like someone pounding on bread, and I set the sandwich down before I could take another bite. What about you, did you get everything done you wanted? He asked, taking another drink of the water he had set by his sandwich. He picked at the bread and ate a crumb of it. Bread was always good for a stomach, right? Have any other plans for tonight? I added, looking up at her before looking outside again, wondering if, miraculously, I would see my dog in the distance, okay and running back to the house with who knows what. But my luck didn’t seem to be stretching that far anymore, unfortunately. I turned my attention back to Sammie instead, pushing the pup out of my mind again. [/blockquote]

She looked at him and picked at her sandwich, when he said he need to look for Bandit. Well he could not have gotten far but like I said I have not seen him around at all, I figured he would have been all over Caillou’s halter like he normally is but I was sadly mistaken. She shook her head and bit into her sandwich, I think I got everything done. Sammie thought about it for a moment, yes I did except for giving the two idiots a bath but that’s going to take another person, seeing it will be there first bath maybe we could do that tonight? Sammie looked at him and finished the last bit of her sandwich, nothing planed tonight except for bathing the idiots and pleasing my man. She turned and gave him a wink before turning and putting the dish into the dishwasher, grabbing a bowl she put some ingredients into it and then clipping it onto the mixer, she turned it on low and walked away, oh and cooking dinner. She laughed and leaned against the counter, that was typical days work, horses and then cook and then time afterword to spend time with Pablo. She walked over to him and stood behind him and rested her head on his shoulder and wrapping her arms around his waist, you don’t think he is hiding in one of the other barns do you? She whispered into his ear before kissing his neck. She stood and when to check on the contents in the mixer it was looking good but not yet the way she wanted it, she looked at Pablo and waited.

Unfortunately Pablo did not know where Bandit would have went, but he was guessing somewhere in the barns. Okay, so maybe more or less HOPING that he was in the barn. His heart was going against his chest at a very hard rate and his throat was starting to close up out of fear more than anything. He brought the little pup home because he fell in love with him, not to lose him. He knew he was going to have to REALLY start training him when he found him. But he was like a baby, everything he did was cute. But now it was not so cute, and if he did not get a handle on it soon, Bandit would take over. He sighed, willing his heart to slow down and not be so painful. Wait a sec, whose your man? He asked, feigning anger. He felt her arms around him and smiled, feeling the breath of her whisper and then a kiss on her shoulder. He was definitely a lot more relaxed now. Turning around, he drank his water, this time more confidently. Any idea what’s for dinner? He asked, looking at the blender and wondering what it was but pushed it out of his head. He did not care, anything Sammie made was always good. After a few moments he looked at her, Will you help me look for the brat? [/blockquote]

She rolled her eyes, there is only one man in my life and that would be you, she sighed she did not understand him sometimes he did not have nothing to worry about she loved him and no one else. She turned and shut the mixture off, she could see the peak on the meringue frosting and that is exactly what she wanted. She grabbed a spatula and spread the meringue frosting on the cake. She put some water in the bowl after she had the frosting spread good on the cake and then went into the fridge and grabbed the strawberries and stuck them on the outside around the cake. There all done, to answer your questions dinner is stir fry and yes I will help you find the brat. She wiped her hands on the towel and walked over to him, well if you are done I suppose we should go find Bandit before it gets to late. She yawned and walked over and slipped her boots on and grabbed her hat and stuck it on her head, she walked outside and sat on the swing on the front porch, she waited for Pablo.
