This house is one of those that was modified to support a larger family, and at one time it did. Now only the elderly parents remain, however, and strapped for cash they consented to rent out the top floor of the house, and Rowan, herself under financial strain, moved in. It's a fairly nice place to live, the bottom half brick and the top half white plank, with an outdoor staircase up to the second floor so that the family who live on the first are not disturbed by their tenant. The rented part is small but livable, with a single bedroom, bathroom, it's own small kitchen, and another room that serves as a living room.
