Flit let him walk away, letting her own head dip down to graze at the grass, still tense. Her black and white tail slapped at her hindquarters as the bugs started to surround. That was one good thing about running frantically: the bugs were not nearly as bad. She watched as more spitfire was sent from Sammie and then the two disappeared. Ah well, it would be better for all of them if they were split apart for the time being anyway. She did not want to be around bickering. She felt the slight pull on her bridle and brought up her head.
Pablo watched as they went and stalked off toward Flit to get her going too. He was not about to follow them, he did not want to fight with Sammie anymore. He pulled Flit’s head up before stroking her cheek, calming himself down as he did so. Flit, why does everything have to be so complicated? He asked before taking the reins. He looked at the leg again. However long it takes we’ll get there. He said quietly, urging her to start walking. He walked slowly down the path that he and Sammie had gone to get here, rather taking the longer route. There was much more shade. He would take a few steps, and when it seemed that it was getting worse for Flit, he would take a break and let her stand there for a few minutes. It took a few hours, but finally they made it back to the barn. He led her in and put her in her own stall. The sun was just starting to set when they had made it back. He untacked her before grabbing the hose and filling up the bucket, getting ready to clean out the wounds. Unfortunately he would not be able to completely bathe her until tomorrow because the temperature was already dropping. As he filled the bucket he looked in on Fuego and Sweets, but they were both doing fine. He tossed in a couple of flakes to both for the night before starting back to Flit. Entering the stall, he grabbed the sponge out of the bucket and started to softly clean the blood off the leg and clean the wound. It wasn’t as bad as he thought, but it would take a while to heal. He was going to have to watch her and make sure she did not break it open. It meant being walked on a lead line for a few days before it started to really heal and then restricted time in the pasture. He sighed before going on to the scratches on her flanks, cleaning those out too. I’m sorry girly, maybe it was a bad idea for me to bring you up here. [/blockquote]

She stood letting her back stretch out, looking at the wound it would not require vet care just a wrap and a careful eye. She went into the tack room and grabbed purple vet wrap and gaze, she set the gaze and then carefully wrapped it, he seemed to fidget in the begin but the quit all together towards the end. There that should do it. She spoke standing and patting his neck, she herd eager barking and looked to see none other then Hank and Lulu, as they hit the entrance to the barn they stopped and sat down, they knew they were not allowed to be in the barn when a horse was out and they new better then to touch things, she was working on trying to find something that would wear their energy down but had yet to find it even though with all the running they did they pretty much tuckered themselves out. She chuckled softly as there tails beat against the driveway in harmony.
She un clipped Caillou and put him in his stall, feeding both stallions and making sure they had fresh water and that both would be content for the night, when she shut the stall door and locked it she got down on her knee and patted the ground, both dogs bounded towards her and tackled her right to her butt. She chuckled as she was showered in kisses, yes goodness it must have been a hard day here with out me. They whimpered and then sat back on there haunches, she stood are my two pups hungry? They wagged there tails and rolled over onto there backs, she scratched each ones belly, I will fed you guys in a second just have to go fed Jade, she knew that was were Pablo was but she would avoid him for now at least. The two followed her out and then sat outside as she attended to Jade and then she walked back out. The two German shepherd puppies jogging behind her to the house. When she opened the door they plowed into the house and sat down by there bowls. She rolled her eyes and kicked off her boots, ok ok she chuckled and then gave each two cup fulls in there bowl. She sat on the counter and watched the two, thinking about what to say to Pablo.

Pablo entered back into the stall with gauze and wrap. He wrapped up the leg and made sure it was okay. He was going to watch it very closely, and he knew now that he could not let her go all the way again. Alright sweetie, I’m all done torturing you. He said softly, stroking her cheek before kissing her nose. He dumped in some grain along with Fuego and Sweets so that they had their full dinner. Flit’s head dipped down, not even caring about the food around her. She went to the back of her stall and cocked her hoof, eyelids drooping over her eyes as she started to sleep. Pablo looked over the tack before brushing off the dirt that got on it. A couple scratches were on the saddle, but that was okay. He leaned against the wall, looking at the tack, his mind going over the day. He really did not want to go inside just yet. He did not want to deal with Sammie, but at some time he was going to have to go in there. He didn’t know what he was going to say, but didn’t really care either. He glanced around as the shadows continued to elongate as the sun kept sinking down. He sighed before standing up. He was being a chicken just staying out here. Strolling down the barn aisle, he switched off the lights and closed the door before walking slowly toward the house. He saw the lights on and knew she was there. She had already fed Jade, in which he had stayed away and made sure to stay out of the way while he was walking around. Climbing the stairs he looked up at the sky, which was starting to become dotted with little stars and a moon that was climbing to replace the sun. He entered the house and took off his boots, putting them to the side. Seeing Sammie, he asked, How’s Caillou? [/blockquote]

She watched the greedy pups eat their food, Hank using his rump to push his sister away from her food dish however she kept her muzzle in the dish and slid it along with her. Sammie hopped off the counter and grabbed Hanks collar and pulled him away from his food in which he had finished. No you let her finish or you are going in the kennel. He whimpered and jogged off and then came back with his toy, in which he laid down and began to chew on it. Soon Lulu finished hers and looked at her owner, tail wagging softly behind her then the door opened and it was a whole new day! They whimpered and tails were wagging so fast as the bounded toward Pablo, Hank bounded up and hit Pablo right were it counted, she winced slightly, if they ever wanted to have kids Hank would have to stop that. She shook her head, he is fine, tired sore and a little stiff with the stuff I gave him he will be feeling nothing by tomorrow, it was just a herb type thing the vet had told her to give him when ever he seemed to be off. She walked over to him and the dogs skittered off, hitting the end table in the living room and sending things clattering to the ground. She jumped as she was not expecting it, she looked up at him, im sorry about before... but then she started laughing as Hank came out whimper with the lamp shade stuck on his head. She knelt down, how’s my big tough boy now? She tugged on the lamp shade but it was stuck on good, she stood we are going to have to cut it off do you have a knife on you? There was a small place were they could cut it off and not do any harm to the dog but they would have to be careful.

Pablo scratched Hank’s ears affectionately and tried not to flinch at the pain. He wondered where Bandit was, but at that moment did not really want to see him. Who knew, he might be visiting Caillou. A part of him hoped that was where he was because he did not want to be a search party for his pup. He had already searched for the horses with Sammie; he did not want to search for another animal. He watched as Sammie walked toward him, wondering if this was going to be another attack or an apology. It seemed like an apology, and he was about to apologize back but it did not come. Instead, a dog with a lampshade on his head burst in. He shook his head. I don’t have a knife, but of course there has to be one around here… He started going through all the drawers before finding a steak knife. Hope this works. He said, handing it to her. [/blockquote]

She took the knife from him and knelt down by the pup, taking a quick look as to where to begin. She carefully began to cut the lampshade away. Hank behaved well and did not move as she cut threw the last bit of it she pulled it off the dog who shook his head and bounded off. She opened the cupboard and put it next to the trash; shutting it she stuck the knife in the dishwasher she would have to remember to sharpen it before its next use. She yawned and leaned against the counter before walking into the living room to pick up there mess, the two had gone upstairs and she knew that they were lying in the bed. She walked back to Pablo, have you seen Bandit? He was no where near Caillou when I was taking care of him. She sighed hoping that the pup had not run off. Sammie closed the space between them, then again he could be any where around the ranch. She leaned up to kiss him, stepping back she looked at him, im going to go take a shower then I think it will be about time for bed? She smiled and gave him a little wink before walking upstairs and going into the bathroom she left the door open a crack and then turned the shower on and hoped in, hearing the door creek and then feeling something touch her leg she jumped and then screamed, looking down she saw Lulu. Damn it don’t do that again, she shut the water off and changed into some shorts and a tank top waiting for Pablo to join her upstairs.

Pablo watched her go as he leaned against the counter. He did not feel like going to bed yet, but she could if she wanted. He figured he would just stay down here and read some, just in case Bandit came to the door. No he had not seen him since they lost the horses, and he hoped the wolves did not get to him. He didn’t think they did, and he was probably just sulking. He grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge before moving to the couch, plopping down with the remote, deciding instead to watch some television. He would keep it low. He sipped at the water before putting it on a coaster, crossing his legs as he leaned back against it. He heard the shower running and he delved himself into some crime show, seeing as that was the only thing ever on tv anymore. His thoughts moved and scanned throughout the day. This was a crazy day since he got back here. He sighed and came back to the present. He heard the shower stop and a scream and then stern talking. She was okay. He went back to his tv watching. Sammie yawned and stood, drawing the shades close and laying down in bed. She pulled the covers up and Hank took the spot at her feet and Lulu curled up by her stomach, Sammie stroked her soft fur yawning again, she could feel herself getting sleepier by the second. She smiled as Lulu took a deep breath and then sighed, Hank was already snoring. Sammie was thinking it was a good thing she had a king size bed, there was more then enough room in this bed, for the dogs, her, Pablo and anything else that happened to crawl up with them. She yawned again, good night Hank and Lulu she spoke softly Lulu whimpered because Pablo was not here but Sammie knew when he was ready he would come up and go to sleep. Soon she fell asleep with the dogs near her.

The sun was slowly moving through the windows, but Pablo was not to be seen. He was already dressed and down in the barn, checking on Flit. He had already unwrapped the wound and was inspecting it. Well it doesn’t seem infected. Lets keep it that way, okay? He asked, getting up and stroking her neck before wrapping his arms around her, giving her a hug. I’ll take you for a walk after breakfast, and then after dinner? It’ll be just for a few days. He said, exiting the stall. He went and started getting the feed ready. He had let Sammie sleep, not wanting to disturb her. He had fallen asleep on the couch watching tv, and when he woke up in the middle of the night, he just turned off the tv and then flipped over and went back to sleep, not feeling like moving. He dumped the food in Flit’s stall, throwing a flake of hay into the stall before going on to Fuego. He was dancing in his stall, impatient to get his food, throwing his head around. Okay, okay, I get it! Pablo said, dumping his food in there. He was not getting hay because he was going to mow the pasture anyway, he did not need to get any fatter. Sweets was just standing in the back of her stall, relaxing and just looked up as the food was dumped in her stall before moving slowly. He did not know if Sammie wanted to feed Jade herself or no, so he would wait for her. [/blockquote]

There was all sorts of noises going on upstairs, from the dogs as they were trying to get Sammie up. Hank the tank jumped and landed on Sammie, she shot up and gripped her stomach, Hank that was not nice she spoke chuckling and then catching her breath. They both started licking her and she turned her head to get away from them and then she fell off the bed both dogs looked down from the bed at her like why are you down there? She blew her hair out of her face and stood, she walked to the bathroom and pulled her hair back and then brushed her teeth and washed her face before getting dress. Walking down the stairs she had a hold of her back noticing it was sore. She fed the dogs and grabbed herself and apple munching on it wail the dogs engulfed their food. She had not even finished when they were ready to go outside, she slipped her boots on and opened the door being careful not to get plowed over. She walked to the stallions barn and fed Caillou the rest of her apple, she entered and un wrapped his leg, she looked at it and then stood slowly, Caillou whickered it sounded like a laugh, you try falling off a bed and tell me how you feel. She patted his neck and left the wound un wrapped deciding it could use some air, she went about feeding the stallions and then walked over to the mares barn, rubbing her back yet again the two puppies following her, you know you two cause me a lot of pain. She spoke before entering the barn, Jade letting a piercing whinny go, I hear you. She spoke filling the mares bucket and putting it in her stall before tossing a flake of hay in her stall. There you go you pain. She just happened to turn around and see two puppies run by, hot on a birds trail. Oh no, she went out of the barn just in time to see Hank hit a tree and Lulu trip over her own paws, Hank stood and shook himself off and trotted back, Lulu took her time finding her ground. Sammie leaned against the barn entrance and chuckled softly, watching the two.

Pablo had entered back into the stall where Flit was and was grooming her. He was gonna have to give her a good bath today, but that would be fine. It meant more time that she had out of her stall. He heard Sammie out there and looked out, but she was busy feeding her own horse. He combed through Flit’s mane as she finished up eating. She started moving toward the stall door, but Pablo kept her where she was until he was finished with what he was doing. You know better brat. He murmured, grabbing her halter and lead line. Clipping them on, he let her walk out of the stall, but kept her at that pace. He went and stood by Sammie. I’m gonna walk her around, you can bring Caillou along if you like or you can walk with us. I just don’t want her reopening the wound. Yeah he may be extra cautious, but he didn’t want her getting an infection because she was running around in the pasture. Flit danced a tiny bit at the end of the lead line, glad to be out of the stall. He looked behind him at the other horses, figuring that he would let them out when he got back from the walk. She nodded I think Caillou could use a walk be right back. She walked over to the stallions barn, in order for her to feel safe she was going to wrap it in case he got excited. She quickly wrapped it and clipped the black lead line to his halter, opening the stall door he came out slowly head lowered, she could tell he was a tad stiff in the front the leg but other then that he was ok. She patted his neck and lead him out into the sun, his golden coat shinning, he flicked his tail as they neared the mare barn, he got a little excited when he picked up on Flit but he was sore so he did not do much but prick his ears and let a call go to her. She smiled and patted his neck, he propped his hoof and waited for something to happen, well are you ready? She questioned softly, waiting.

Pablo waited for them to come back, scratching Flit’s neck idly. Hearing a call, he looked over, and so did Flit. Her ears perked, and she called back, and she started to walk toward them. I guess we are. He said with a slight laugh, catching up and gathering more lead to keep better control of the mare. Any particular place you want to walk to? He asked her, stopping Flit to wait for her answer. He was just gonna walk up and down the driveway, stop for a little bit and let her graze. Flit looked over at Caillou but made sure to be on her best behavior, so made no move toward him. Their adventure yesterday was not the greatest thing in the world, and she did not want a repeat, and she wanted to stay on her owner’s best side, just as much as she figured he wanted to. The sun shone down on her black and white coat, but it was still dirty from the adventure yesterday. She put her head down already and started to graze, her tail beating at her hindquarters. She smiled, no I don’t think there is any place we want to go, just down the driveway and let them graze. Sammie started to walk, the stallion following along. She soon stopped and let him wander off into the grass; he began to contently graze tail occasionally smacking his hindquarters. He looked up at his owner and came back over to her, his nose was pushing on her stomach as he looked for a treat, then he rested his head on her shoulder nibbling at her hair, she chuckled and took a carrot out of her back pocket, feeding it to him, you knew I had treats you just did not know what pocket they were in. she scratched his cheek and under his forelock, fixing it so it was off to the side and covered his left eye, he nickered softly and then walked back out to graze again. She turned to Pablo, how did you sleep last night? She asked, it was hard because they had barely said a thing to each other or if they did it was a few words and then they went there own ways. She sighed and looked down, simply waiting.

Pablo followed along as Flit just walked beside him, her head low, relaxed. He walked slowly, and always made sure to check that she did not need to take a break or anything like that. But she made it to their destination, and he let her walk out and graze. She stood there for a little bit before her head finally dipped toward the grass, nibbling at it. The couch is not the comfiest, but I slept okay. He said. He looked toward the sun before sighing. I’m sorry about yesterday Sammie. It was all he was going to say for his apology at the moment. He did not like this awkwardness that he felt between them, if that was what one could call it. That had never been part of their relationship before, and he sure as hell wanted to get rid of it now. He looked toward Flit, making sure she was okay, but she had found herself in some clover and was very content trying to get it all before anyone else could even get a snippet of it. [/blockquote]
