Pablo followed her out at a walk, letting her take the lead. He did not want to rush the Paint mare so quickly, but let her ease into her stride. She did not mind at the moment letting the ignorant stallion just walk away. She had no time for stallions anyways, they were only useful for foals. And target practice at their hard heads of course. As the stallion and Sammie got really ahead, he looked around as he squeezed his legs and they went into a comfortable jog, Pablo riding it easily. Seeing the small tree ahead, he asked for a lope and they sailed it easily, staying at a lope for a couple of strides before going back to a jog. It was more comfortable, and for her it would keep her stamina just in case they were to race so she could really show this stallion who actually owned this barn. And one thing, it was not him.
Pablo looked up at the sky. It was as if it had never rained, although puddles were everywhere and he made sure to step around them. He did not want Flit to break an ankle or even sprain one. Whoa girly. He whispered to her, only sitting back in the saddle with a slight pull to the reins, and she stopped. He was gonna wait until Caillou was under control or head in to help if she fell off. Flit snorted, watching the stallion look like an idiot out there. You know what’s horrible…I’m never surprised at a colt’s childish antics. They never grow up. She stated as he finally calmed down and she was nudged forward. Flit did not care if the colt heard her or not. She went into her jog again and Pablo circled the log, cutting between the trees easily. Branches stuck out everywhere. Will it need to be cut up and taken out? He asked, already formulating a plan. If that was the case the other tree would need to be moved too so that he could get through with all the pieces. He did not know how many horses would actually be able to jump the tree. They could go around. [/blockquote]

She shook her head, no I think we will leave it and they can go around for the time being I don’t want to have to cut down another tree to remove this one. The stallion was fixated on the mare, at least im not moody twenty four seven he snorted and continued to stare at the mare, besides im the nice one you have to watch out for Barbary he is the worse. He snorted and shook his head, Sammie picked up the reins and cued him to walk forward, veering off on a little path that did not even look like a path, she smiled and turned around, come on I have something to show you. Cuing the stallion to move at a jog, they carefully picked there way threw the grasses. Caillou snorting every once and awhile as some long grass ticked his nose. Sammie turned left into some dense trees, but the path led right threw them.
Soon the trees began to brake and then all together part. Down the center of the clearing ran a stream, all around the clearing was dotted with wild flowers and long grass, there was a tree near the stream and she asked Caillou to walk on, once at the tree she untacked the stallion, taking the reins off she let him go and then sat down on a rock, waiting for Pablo to join her. Sammie carefully watched as Caillou, waded into the water, he stood head raised tail flicking behind him, then he lowered his head and began to drink the water contently as there was nothing here to disrupt him. He trotted over to his owner looking at her before, walking up on of the hills to stand guard, just as if he were in the wild.

Pablo let them get a little distance ahead before squeezing his legs together, going into a smooth jog as they just followed them. Flit knew that if the stallion did not fall then she probably would not either. Anyway if the stallion fell it would not hurt him any, he was too bull-headed. Ah what a feminist she was. Stallions drool, mares rule. That will always hold true. She picked her way through the weeds, picking at the ones that looked tasty. She was set in her ways, and Pablo knew it so decided against punishing her. His mind trailed a little bit as they just followed, like a parade or follow the leader. Finally they stopped. Pablo looked around, a tiny smile creeping up as he looked at the little piece of utopia hiding from the rest of the big bad world. This little tiny plot seemed unhindered by the massive storm that had just hit them.
Dismounting away from the tree, he unhooked the bit and slung the reins and bit over his shoulder. Sliding the girth off, he noticed the little beads of sweat that were forming on her coat. She would enjoy the water immensely. He would leave the halter on, seeing no point in taking it off. Flit walked away and toward the water, tail beating at her hindquarters as she dipped her head and drank before walking away, snipping at the grass a little bit. She looked back at the water again, turned around on her haunches and charged straight at the water, the splash loud, water flying everywhere, but it felt good. She looked over at Caillou. Good this was her river, no stallions allowed! Pablo walked over to the tree, making sure there were no branches about to fall and go clunkity clunk clunk on their heads. Bending down for a second or two, he picked one of the wildflowers, an orange one that turned more red as the petals went out. For you, m’dear. He said, handing the flower to her before taking a seat on the grass. It was still wet, and probably a bad idea, but it was cool and the shade was nice. How did you find this spot? He asked, looking up at her before back at Flit, who was pawing at the water, entertained by the ripples. Sometimes she was just too much like a little foal. [/blockquote]

Sammie chuckled, why thank you kind sir. She took the flower from him and stuck it in her hair, ya you probably don’t want to know how I found this place, see it all started one clear day and I was out riding Jade, things seemed to be going wonderful she was listening and behaving and then things took a turn to the dark side and a bird swooped spooking her into a dead run, so my peaceful day turned into the omg im going to die today adventures and what do you know she ran clear into this clearing which is when she finally stopped, see told you did not want to know. She chuckled and shook her head, She will be the death of me one day not any time soon though. She smiled and leaned back against the tree, watching the mare and then looking at Caillou who now noted the mare and was making his way down, this had been his spot first and it just was not fair!
He came over to Sammie and Pablo, nudging his owner and whickering softly. It was almost like he was saying can you take to the mare and make her go away. She shook her head, You mister have to fight your own battles I am not doing it for you, if you want to play in the water you are going to have to learn to get along with Flit. Sammie crossed her arms over her chest and the stallion looked at Pablo, He’s not going to fight your battle either. Caillou snorted and turned on his heels like he could understand her and trotted over to the water and then right in, far enough away from Flit, learn to love it sweet cheeks because I am not going any where. He snorted and pawed at the water before lowering his crown to drink the refreshing cool water.
Well there you have that one, Sammie chuckled and looked at Pablo uncrossing her arms and reaching up to adjust the flower that was going to fall out of her hair, what do you want for dinner tonight? She asked him it did not matter to her if they eat dinner or just snacked. She yawned slightly and turned to make sure Caillou was being on his best behavior, which he was so she turned back to Pablo and waited for him to speak. Look a fish Caillou spoke to the mare then he saw a really pretty flower and he just had to have it to give to her. He trotted over and bit the steam of the white flower with the rim of the flower being pink, he trotted over to Flit, for you, think of it as a peace offering. He said simply.

Flit looked at Caillou as he came into HER river. This was HER river, not his. Mmhmm that’s what YOU think. Yes she was going to act like a little filly so there. She brought her leg up a little more to make bigger splashes than his, The black and white mare glanced up at him and noticed he was no longer playing. Her coat was soaked, and it felt nice and cool. The sun beat down on her and it made her coat seem to glitter a little bit with drops of water. She was surprised when he came back with a flower. Who was this? You are one strange stallion. And strangely, I don’t mind it. It was better than a stallion jumping all over her. That was annoying. And that was what she figured he was like. Just another one of those hormone-crazy stallions. But he seemed to have other emotions than testosterone and machoism. She took the flower from him and took it to the bank, setting it on the shore and pushing it up away from the flower. Sorry for what I said back there… she stated simply.
Pablo looked up at her before looking at the horses. Why are horses so peculiar? It doesn’t matter to me. He said, inching his hand up to take hers, intertwining his fingers with his. No he really did not like the story or the actions that had happened but he did not want to say that. It was her life, and he was not going to try and take control. Jade seemed a little out of control, but it was her own adventure, and he would not say anything. Well I’m glad Jade found this place. He said, looking up at her with a half-crooked smile before back down at the two. And I would say so do Caillou and Flit. [/blockquote]

Caillou shook his head, its fine no harm done its my pasture buddy you have to look out for he will jump on anything that moves well pretty much, he is crazed and full of testosterone and hormones, he scares me sometimes. He bobbed his crown, watching her set the flower down he gave her a smile, I like being different it is nice to have control over my body. He shook his crown and walked into the water, pawing at it and then lowering his body into it. He came up looking darker then he really was, he shook and pawed at the water again making splashes, he stopped and looked at her, would you like to join me? He asked looking at her and waiting begin his pawing again but only for a moment before looking at her again.
She shook her head, well you are no help I guess I will just cook something light, maybe just a chef salad sounds good to me. She yawned again and felt him take her hand in his, entwining there fingers, ya when she wants to be she can be a joy other times not so much. I think they are happy too, she watched as Caillou stood from his romp in the water and began to paw again, she shook her head, she looked at him not for sure what to say she was at a loss for words and normally she was not, she squeezed his hand lightly she was just happy that he was back and that they had that special moment, there was no way this day could get any better could it?

Flit looked at the stallion, knowing her apology was accepted. Well thanks for the warning. She murmured, making a mental note to make sure to give the attitude to that one instead of Caillou. She looked at the flower for a second before looking back at him playing in the river. A playful grin settled on her muzzle as she walked farther into the water, taking her muzzle into the water, sipping it before using it to splash him a little. All of a sudden she lifted on her hindquarters, hooves flailing in the air before landing, the water slowing down her crash. Water hit her stomach and she shook some of the water out of her mane before looking over at Caillou. You asked. She stated simply before putting her head down again, tail beating at her hindquarters, drinking the water, but making sure to watch him for any signs that he was about to do something. Who knew she would be playing with a stallion? Definitely not her. She rolled her eyes at the thought before pushing it to the back of her mind. She relaxed in the water, feeling the current pulling her tail, some of the sticks that had fallen getting caught in it. [/blockquote]

He chuckled and looked at her, plotting his revenge but he was not a horse who did things like that so he simply settled, you win there is no way to get you back. He bobbed his crown and took a step near her, to nibble her neck don’t worry im not trying to jump you or get anything from you, simple kind gesture that is all. He continued to groom her and then backed away just in cause, he walked out of the water and shook his coat off water droplets falling all around him, he snorted and tossed his crown, the sun hitting his golden coat and warming him and begin to draw him making him become the light buckskin color he was, he stole a glance at the humans he could tell they loved each other so and well he could tell they loved and cared for each other a lot. He bobbed his crown and whickered softly, he knew he would be a good little kid horse and he often times wondered what it would be like to have a little human on his back instead of an adult? Oh well, he shook his crown he need to focus on his own whoa’s and troubles.

Flit tensed, ready to attack if he made any moves. But insanely, she trusted him. She won, well duh. When one is fighting against a mare, well, that’s just it, they’ve already lost because mares always win. She waited a few moments before walking up behind him, letting out a whicker before nibbling at his withers a little bit. Her coat started to dry slowly as she dipped her black head toward the ground, nibbling at the grass. What in the world was she doing? She was standing next to a stallion and trusting him. Please, someone, check the picture, make sure this is correct. She was completely relaxed, trusting that he would not jump her, not like the barbarian Barbary. She would definitely have to watch out for him. I’m sorry, my childish ways sometimes take over. Can’t help it. Her real owner used to love that about her, and with that thought it felt like something stabbed her in the heart. She sighed before going back to grazing. It was the present, no reason to dwell in the past.
Pablo looked over at Sammie. She was beautiful, smart, funny, and so much more. And she loved him. He did not know how, but somehow he was able to get a second chance, especially with Sammie. The thing in his pocket was burning a whole, and he put his hand in his pocket, fiddling with it. His voice came out a little hoarse. Sammie… he said, although he left nothing else there, wanting to make sure that he had her attention before anything else. He did not pay attention to the horses, he knew they were fine, instead he was watching her. [/blockquote]

He chuckled and touched her cheek but that is what makes you who you are and don’t ever change that. He whickered softly to her and lowered his crown to nibble at the blades below his hooves. He shook his head and let his ears flop as a fly flew into the one, he shook his head violently, stomping the ground, it flew out and he gave his head on final shake to be on the safe side. He snorted and kept his ears against his head until he was sure nothing more could get into them then he unpinned them and looked over in her direction she seemed to be thinking about something and then all together came back and was normal again, oh well he thought probably something in the past no sense in bring it up.
Sammie had been watching Caillou to make sure he did not try to jump the mare but held it together, he was a good stallion he would have nothing to worry about with him however Barbary was going to be the one that would take any mare under him, she was thinking about getting him gelded so he would calm down some but then again she would lose a good line for breeding wise. She herd Pablo speak and she turned to look at him, her undivided attention on him. Yes? She spoke, he seemed she did not know nervous which had her a bit scared needless to say but she wanted to find out what he was going to say, she turned so she was facing him and her back to the horses, they were fine now she looked at Pablo with a puzzled look and waited.

Pablo watched her, pushing a strand of hair back behind her ear again. He loved doing that. It was just a small thing, but he loved it all the same. The sun beat down on him, making warmer than he already was. His heart was beating erratically in his chest. I’ve loved the time that we’ve had together in this relationship. It has been…amazing. Taking her hands, he brought them up and kissed them softly. I don’t know if I can think of anyone else that I would have rather spent these months with. He averted his gaze for a second, wondering if maybe he should actually do this. But he had to, while he still had the guts. But I don’t think it’s going to work out. I don’t think I can handle having you for my girlfriend for one more second. Getting on his knees, he let go of one of her hands. Because I want more. He pulled something out of his pocket and held it up. It was a white gold necklace, but hanging down on it was a white gold band with a diamond sparkling on it. It had come from his mom. She knew, he knew it. She knew because of the way he had talked about her the whole time. The last night her mother told him that she could not wait to meet the newest member of the family, and that she wanted him to have this, to give to her, whenever he thought the time was right. I know the relationship that we have is strong, and it will be strong, through everything. It will be amazing. The months that we have shared together were great, but our future holds so much more for us. This time, he got down on one knee, keeping her one hand on his, his thumb gently rubbing her skin. It was just them, he did not think of anything else. Please Sammie, will you make me the luckiest man alive and become my bride? [/size]

Sammie felt him brush a piece of hair behind her ear, it was always nice when he did that, he did way more then well nameless did. She watched him carefully stunned by his words and then yet there was more, she could not believe it, it was happening. She looked at the chain and the ring she was thinking long and hard about this that and she was at a loss of words. Sammie nodded, Yes Pablo that’s all she could get out. She wrapped her arms around his neck in an embrace, she was shaking and was not for sure why, she wiped under her eyes and looked at him before hugging him again and then kissing him, she was not for sure how she would go about telling her family, they were still ify about her dating and such but they knew how much he meant to here and how much of a good guy he was. She looked at him again, I don’t know how im going to tell my family but some how I will. She smiled at him she was just so happy right now, there really were not enough words to describe how she was feeling at this moment.

His heart hammered in his chest, and it was painful, waiting for what felt like hours as she thought about it. And then she said it and his heart leapt for joy. His smile was so big and radiant. He wrapped his arms around her, knowing that he was the luckiest man alive. He would be the luckiest man alive fifty years from now. It would take him forever to get over this, it really would. He could not believe that she really did say yes, it just seemed impossible. Thank you mom. He thought. It was the weird thing to think, but he had nobody else to thank for the courage to do this. He kissed her back passionately, knowing that forever now he would be able to kiss her. Every morning, every afternoon, every evening. There was so much in store for their future. They had so many adventures, so many trials and so many wonderful things to do. He nodded about the family. He was going to have to call his family. He knew there was so much they were going to need to do but right now he did not care. He just wanted to revel in this. He had Sammie forever. I love you, Sammie Moore. He stated before kissing her again. It will be alright. Everything will be. No, everything would be great.
Flit looked up as quick actions were taking place. What in the world was going on? She looked over at Caillou, figuring he might know. Wait she was stereotyping again, sometimes some stallions don’t know everything. She nudged his shoulder, Do you know? She looked pointedly at Pablo and Sammie, figuring he would get the gist. Her tail beat at her hindquarters out of habit, but her whole attention was on them. [/size]

Sammie smiled, enjoying this moment with Pablo the one that she truly loved. There would be a lot they would have to do and there might be a few hurtles that needed to be cleared but nothing that she could see as of now. She chuckled I love you too did I just make this the best day? She asked before he kissed her, I know everything will be fine I just have to get across to my family you are not going to hurt me, she gave him a smile and kissed him, she could see out of the corner of her eye that Caillou was watching and Flit was nudging his shoulder, it sound it like they were talking to each other but what did she know. She looked at Pablo and sat back slightly, she was still in shock like it really had happened, a second time for both but she knew this was going to be forever and better then the first.
Caillou chuckled, I think I know what is going on so your human Pablo pulled something shiny out of his pocket the more I studied it I noted it was a chain and on that chain was a ring, so he proposed to Sammie. He bobbed his crown and turned to touch her cheek, thats all and well lots of emotion, he shook his head and looked at her. He turned on his hind and touched her shoulder, your it sweetheart. He thundered off pass Pablo and Sammie, tossing his head and kicking his heels up, stopping when he was a good yard away from her, he tossed his head again and looked at her like come and get me I dare you to. He was pretty good at this game so he would see if she could be too.

Okay, so maybe this stallion is a know it all. But then again he was a correct know it all. Too much human emotion for her at least. Her head bent down and started to graze again to idle away the time when she felt something on her shoulder and his words floating to her ear. She looked up to see the stallion charging away and waited until he stopped before charging after him, head bent down a little as dirt flew behind her as she cantered toward him, turning on her haunches and nipped at his ribcage playfully. Not anymore. She called over her shoulder as she turned around, swinging behind the tree and up the hill, stopping at the top. Her black and white tail floated behind her as a breeze caught it and she stared down at him, waiting.
Pablo glanced at them before looking back at her. No because every day with you is the best day in my eyes, no matter what. When they see how much I love you, how much we love each other, they will know. He said quietly, hoping that it was true. He would never hurt her. In reality he would never hurt a fly. Maybe a bee or something of that sort, but never her. How could anyone hurt something so beautiful, inside and out? He would never know. He knew that it would happen, and he would make sure that it never did happen again. [/blockquote]
