"i've got sunshine on a cloudy day,
Summer is generally the season you see flocks of people cramming themselves on the pristine strips of sand, soaking up as much sun as possible and frolicking in the water. Fortunately, it was autumn, therefore only a handful of a people were scattered about, and the beach was clear of any litter left behind by formerly mentioned hordes of beach-goers. The roar of the water buffeted the wind, which was currently whipping shockingly pink hair into a somewhat controlled yet tangled mess. Growling under her breath, the owner of said hair rolled a black, thin hair band off of her wrist and twisted the mess of wavy locks into a messy bun, exposing her pale throat. Her bangs and a few shorter strands that fell around her face were soon dancing in the breeze once more, though were quickly bobby pinned to the top of her head.
Slipping on her sunglasses, Kai swayed dreamily toward the water, inhaling the densely concentrated air deeply. Slowing to a stop about twenty yards off, she placed her large blanket on the sand and slipped off her tank top, leaving her in just her bikini top and jean shorts, plopping herself on in a stretching on her back. The UV rays attacked her peach skin, though they were met with a defense of sunscreen. She didn't burn easily, but it was still nice to take precautions. Sliding her phone from her pocket, she squinted to read the screen: 2:00 p.m. She'd had to run back to her apartment to change after the barn, and she had told Kyle that she would be here around this time. Hm, she had yet to see him.
got a lovely little lamp inside my brain."

The beach was a generally nice place. However, he seriously had not been to the beach in awhile. He really didn't bother changing clothes, he was a tad bit lazy for that. The only thing he did was take his shirt off and leave his tattered jeans on. Lazy, extremely lazy. He wasn't quite the type to wear shorts, in fact he hated shorts. Shorts were very annoying. They made him feel a bit too girlish. Although he did have shorts underneath his jeans. He still hated them. He was glad when he finally set foot on the sands. Sand. Sounds a bit too much like desert than beach. Expansion of sea. Nice. He looked around for the familar pink haired woman he had met earlier. The one who had invited him on this rendezvous to the beach. When he finally caught sight of her, the poor man almost fainted. That just wasn't normal, was it? Anyway, back to the subject. He walked a bit closer and called her name, though not extremely loudly, that would be a bit too absurd wouldn't it? Though it wasn't unlike him. "Kai!"He spoke as he walked until he was nearby.[/blockquote]

"i've got you and me,
Kai! Eyes snapped open at her personal label, blinking in order to focus before searching for the person behind the call. Seeing Kyle approaching, she immediately whipped into a seated position, abdominal muscles tightening with the strain of not using her arms to push her up. Wow, she really needed to work out or something. Raking her gaze over the man she had been waiting for, she sucked in a sharp breath. He wasn't wearing a shirt...! Oh dear, someone cover him up before some random group of teenage, hormone crazy girls tackled him! Or better yet, Kai! Whoa, whoa. Where'd that come from? Easy honey, you just met the guy. It's bad enough that you already asked him out, so to say, but now getting all worked up over him even more just because of his lack of shirt? Shame on you, you poor excuse for a conservative girl! No ravishing the poor, unsuspecting man...especially in public!
Contradicting her mental feud with herself, she smiled appreciatively at his state of dress. Now, wasn't he quite the cowboy, keeping his jeans on at the beach. "Kyle!" Kai greeted him excitedly, patting a spot on the blanket next to her in an invitation.
that's a family."

For a moment he felt a bit bad because he had gotten there a bit late, though he had went to sleep and competely forgotten about the beach. At least not until he fell off the couch rather abruptly. Oh what a pain that was. Although a huge smile lit up his features as he sat down next to Kai. "Sorry that I am a tad bit late"Though he looked a bit smug. His hair was in a disarray, obviously telling that although he had slept on the couch, and he had fallen on the floor, he had slept on the floor for a short while as well.Though he was still smiling in Kai's direction. He really didn't take a noticing to the shirtless thing, heck sometimes he managed to go the store looking like that. He never really noticed the looks people gave him. Was there something wrong with his completely awesome bod? Maybe he was a bit....too confident in his features.[/blockquote]

"lets sail the seven seas,
"It's alright. I was only lonely for a few minutes." She mused about his ruffled hair, wondering how he had come to get such a bed head. Kai couldn't recall it looking like that earlier...did he take a nap? Ah, she was jealous! Not that she was that tired, but it was a rare that she could force herself to rest a bit during the day. Her mind was far too active for her to fall asleep unless she was completely exhausted, which was why she did as much as possible during the day, pushing herself to the limit, until she collapsed on bed and woke up looking like she had a hangover. Stretching her arms above her head, she moaned as her muscles stretched pleasantly, allowing herself to fall backward into a laying position on the blanket.
and see what we see."

He laughed quietly most to himself before ruffling his hair even more with his hand. He silently inspected the silver ring on his finger for a few seconds before speaking once more "I sort of fell asleep without knowing it earlier" Usually he spent most of the day sleeping, or either eating. He had a high metabolism so maybe that was why he was able to eat so much food without a problem, though he wasn't extremely skinny either, for that would be extremely irritating. He noticed that she had laid down. Amazingly he managed to not stare at her, for any other time that was what he would do. But today he didn't quite feel like looking at women, which was highly strange, for him anyway. He managed to push those thoughts out of his mind "So do you like this beach?" He asked momentarily.[/blockquote]

"'cause life is silly,
Kai hmed quietly as she scanned the beach. Sun and surf never really was her thing, but today was the exception. She hadn't been to a beach in general for awhile. It was something new, though not very exciting though the prospect of having a new friend with her was making the experience much better. Even though she wasn't too infatuated with this location, she found it rather enjoyable. "Ja...it has a certain charm to it, even though I'm not too much of a beach-goer." She smiled and sat up on her elbows, sneaking a glance at him through her sunglasses. "Do you like the beach?"
if you see like me."

He stretched as the sun's rays beat down him before he spoke again "I've never had much interest in the beach." Though is words sounded a bit uninterested in beaches, he was still grinning. Not coming to the beach for the fear of sunburn was only one thing he disliked about beaches. He didn't exactly hate beaches, sometimes he could be a bit too lazy to go anywhere in the first place. When he starting out in college he came out the beach alot but only to see the women that wandered the beach. He was more of a wild child the though now he quieted down just a bit but not alot. He was still a wild, rowdy person and he even admitted it. He casted a glance in her direction at her question. "I like them somewhat, though they are not exactly my most favorite places" He admitted honestly. He looked at the sea for a few moments and watched as a few seagulls flew over the waters. The ocean was so..boring. He yawned realizing he had stared a the calm waters for too long. He looked to Kai again "Forgive my asking, but what brought you the the States? I can tell that you are not from this country" He asked for he had been wondering where this woman had come from and he could tell the difference from American women and foreign women. American women were a bit off the leash while certain women from different countries were a bit more civilized. Strange how he knew such things.[/blockquote]

"so please,
It didn't come as a surprise to her when he inquired about her nationality. She couldn't go through a week without being asked at least five to ten times, and mainly from complete strangers! The weirdest so far had to be when she was at a massage salon. She'd been half naked, laying face down on the table, a towel covering her lower body, and then the (fairly attractive) masseur, who hadn't even heard her talk save for the usual greeting of 'hello,' asked her what country she hailed from. In her relaxed mode, it took a few moments to respond, but nevertheless, she was slightly irked at how heavy her accent must be. Her accent was always her weakness because people either stared incredulously at her, didn't understand a word out of her mouth, and/or proceeded ask a billion questions while she could have already paid for her groceries...Oh, and it seems a lot of people disliked her accent. That, and she was always hearing ' Nazi,' which was incredibly offensive, obviously! Hmph, racist American jackasses...oh, there she goes being racist herself...damnit. Sitting up straight, she brought her legs toward her and folded them pretzel style, watching the waves crash down on the sand. "Well, when I was younger, I had always wanted to go somewhere different...so, obviously, when the exchange program offered me a place in America when I was sixteen, I took it. I stayed with my exchange family, who have more or less adopted me and I still, to this day, see them, for two years. When I was eighteen, I came back home. I had missed my dear Flocki desperately, you see, so the first thing I did was tackle him." She smirked as she remembered her best friend. "He was the Shire I grew up with, you see. Well, to make this tale shorter, I only stayed for around a year, then moved back here. Don't ask me what possessed me to stay in this country, because I'm not totally sure I know myself. Oh, I'm from northern Germany, by the way." As if her heavily German accent didn't point that out already.
don't take life so seriously."

So she was German. Huh he had never met a German in person before, or had he? He couldn't quite remember. The subject of America had grown quite boring to him so he didn't ask anymore questions on how she had came here "So I can tell that you have a liking for Shires" He himself had never met a Shire before until he saw her mare. The Shies were a tad bit big for him, even though many people dubbed them as gentle giants. People and their nicknames for everything. He did not miss Australia, not in the least bit. Sure when he was a really small child he enjoyed the outback continent. But he quickly grew bored of it and its exotic animals. He didn't exactly like waking up to scorpions and snakes in his bed. And then whenever you left the city, there was nothing but dirt, heck if you could even call it dirt. He stared at the sea for a few moments before smiling "The sea sure is beautiful" He admitted after awhile.[/blockquote]

"because life is so hard to explain.
She smirked at his observation and it's accuracy. Indeed, Kai had the love of that breed deeply rooted in her ever since she was first heaved onto the back of her first horse after her pony went out of commission. Flocki had taught her the magic of the draughts and their pros and cons. She'd also learned that they all weren't always gentle giants: they did have their moments where they believed themselves flighty Arabians. On the contrary, those moments did not last long because Flocki had been far too lazy to lift his hind or front end up long enough for a buck or rear most of the time. Though, it was quite unsettling when he had reared straight up once. She hadn't fallen, but that would have been a very...long way down.
"Yes, I must admit that I have a preference toward Shires. Hm...They're...fucking awesome." She let out a short laugh at the curse word, for it was an unfamiliar, raw sound coming from her. She didn't particularly favor cursing, though she did have the occasional outburst or she wanted to better elaborate something by using such remarks. The English language permitted her to do this very...colorfully. Falling into the silence for awhile, she almost started at his admittance, having lost herself to the quiet. "Yes, yes, it is." She squinted a tad, brown eyes gazing studiously at the gray-blue waters, wondering what lurked beneath the surface. "It is one of the most beautiful things in the world, don't you think?"
i've got chemical swirls in my brain."

Indeed the deep blue hue of the lapping waters was beautiful, however he couldn't exactly say that it was the most beautiful thing in the world. He sometimes admired the photos of deep green seas, they were such an enchanting color. He remained silent for a long which was rare in his case seeing as he was one to usually talk nonstop. He looked up at the sky for a moment. Soon enough he stopped his idle daydreaming and looked back at Kai, a grin on his face once again. "I wouldn't exactly say the sea is the most beautiful thing in the world mainly because I have seen things that looked even more beautiful than the sea." He spoke again after awhile.[/blockquote]

"'cause life is silly
Kai nitpicked absentmindedly at the threads coming loose from the blanket upon which she sat, staring blankly at the sand. Her mind was sucked into a vortex of thoughts for a moment before everything grinded to a halt as her ears picked up the speech of her guess. Pausing as she mulled over his words, she drew her legs up and rested her hands on her knees, fingers tapping on her freshly shaven skin. She absolutely despised having prickly legs, well, prickly anything. Feeling a bit fidgety, she pulled the bobby pins and hair tie from her pink mess of locks, allowing them to basically freefall and flutter aimlessly around her back. Sweeping her bangs from her face, Kai pulled her hair forward and let it fall on her shoulders, smoothing it as much as possible.
“Wirklich?” She quirked an eyebrow as she grinned, tilting her head in a dreamy, almost clueless manner as she met his gaze. “Do tell of these beautiful things, Kyle. I am curious.” Horses, the ocean, rivers, horses, birds, basically any animal, forests, Mount Fuji (which she had seen in person on a lovely family trip), horses, etc. were a few of the most beautiful things in the world in Kai’s opinion. She played favorites occasionally, but she was mostly one big sappy, i love everything and everyone type of girl until you pissed her off, she has a bad experience, or if she just has an odd disliking toward something for no reason. if you see like me."

He smiled at her words. Oh there was so many beautiful things in the world, he didn't know where to start. Although he couldn't exactly say everything that was beautiful, it might scare the poor girl away. And that just wouldn't do. He was a strange guy, he even admitted himself about that. "Well, I am being honest, I believe women are beautiful. Although you cannot blame me on saying this" He said smiling at her again before looking out the sea once more. "I believe the sky is beautiful, and I believe some horses are beautiful. Ah, the list goes on" He finished as he raised his gaze to the sky for a while, watching a few seagulls take air across the sky. Well he had just discovered another beautiful thing. Birds in flight. Oh now he was daydreaming again. He disliked daydreaming, it made him feel like he was becoming more like his cousin and my goodness, he could not become like his cousin. His cousin was so boring. But he couldn't tell him that, that just would not be nice, now would it? And then it seemed as if his cousin was a bit err afraid of women, oh goodness gracious, that wouldn't do either.[/blockquote]

"so let's play pretend,
Kai was not an extreme feminist or anything, but she had to agree that women did have a certain beauty. Soft curves, shaped legs, all of the things that contributed to the many characteristics of the female sex. There was something undeniably attractive, which was probably because these traits were used to draw in a male to continue the human race. Ah, she had a way to make simple things sound…animalistic. Oh, dearie. “I agree. All of those things are quite beautiful.” She studied him nonchalantly, finding solace in his peaceful expression, her own face mirroring his.
Kai sighed in relaxation, shifting around and pushing herself to her feet. Fingers unbuttoned her jean shorts, sliding them off and kicking her legs free. Adjusting her bikini bottoms briefly, she stepped from the blanket, sliding her feet into the sand, wiggling her toes. Giggling under her breath at the sensation, Kai sauntered excitedly toward the water, goosebumps rising on her skin at the cool breeze that drifted off of the waves. Trodding swiftly into the saltwater until it came up to her knees, she shivered noticeably, forcing herself to adjust to the temperature. Bending over slightly, she dipped her finger into the water, tracing patterns on the surface.

and make believe."
