[size=1Kyle simply shrugged "Yup. Excuses are very hard for me to think up. So, when I did try to think up one, I came up with that sorry one" He said smiling then he looked back at Rowan "I understand that you must be on your way" He couldn't think of anything else to say, although he was wondering why he stopped the poor girl in the first place. He knew that she had to be on her way, so why was he attempting to get in the way of that. Stupid Kyle![/size]

"That's perfectly understandable," said Rowan, as though it really were. She was looking, again at the patch of dirt a little to the right of her boot, perhaps to hide the pinkish tint that she felt creeping across her face again. Then she looked up again with a shrug, "Ah, a little longer can't hurt," she said, lightheartedly, "wouldn't want you to get too bored, of course. And, besides, they'll feed her even if I'm no there." She rose her eyes again, a challenging, jesting glint in them, a little mischievous, perhaps, but well meaning.

Kyle looked at Rowan for a few more moments then he looked to his right as a pair of cardinals flew from the trees. He smiled at the sight of the small red birds then he looked back at Rowan "Well, I think I've pretty much talked myself out. I never knew that could happen" He laughed at what he said because it was true, he usually talked alot and he never ran out of things to say except for this present time of the day. He thought it was impossible! Perhaps he had just got tired of talking but he didn't think that was the case for right now, he looked at the ground for a few moments, trying to figure out what in the world was wrong with him. Maybe he had a strange nontalking disease that was extremely rare in these parts, but he shook his head, that wasn't possible....was it? A wave of distraught, and confusion passed over his face as he looked back up and then all of a sudden he just looked kind of nervous but after a few more moments, it just passed over and he was happy-go-lucky Kyle again.

"I've always loved cardinals," Rowan said vaguely, following Kyle's line of sight and watching the bright red birds flash past, glinting rubies too soon gone. Actually, she didn't much like birds if they were up close, but she loved to watch the tanagers and the finches from afar. ""Have you really?" she asked, with a bemused sort of grin on her face, looking amused at his alarmed expression, "I guess I don't know you that well, but I was under the impression that wouldn't happen." She was teasing now, a mischievous sparkle in her eye behind her glasses. She chuckled to herself as Kyle tried to regain his powers of speech, thinking him tongue-tied more than anything else. And that was understandable. "Well, if you've got nothing else to say I might as well leave, but you wouldn't want to... er... accidentally run into each other another time, would you? Say... tomorrow?"

Kyle smiled at the thought of meeting his new found friend again. He felt like a spring colt, excited and happy and everything in between. He figured that he wouldn't be bored again if he could meet new people and eventually become good friends with them "Sure! It wouldn't cause any harm, running into each randomly in the countryside"

Rowan, smiling as well, reached down to scratch Sherlock's ears where he lay in the dirt. He panted happily back up at her, seemingly content no matter what happened. "Great!" she said, grinning, really happy that she was going to see her new friend again. She hated meeting people just to forget about them and never see them again, and she was glad that it looked like she was going to have a new friend in her new town after all. "Looks like you're going to get another big walk, Sherlock." She said, looking down at the dog, who looked back up at her with his big droopy eyes and licked her ankle.
