She nodded agreement to his comment, then grinned at the second. "Well, the grass is greener over there, after all," she said, climbing over the fence and landing rather clumsily on the other side, staggering for balance for a few seconds before finding her feet again. Then she reached over and unhooked Sherlock from his leash, which had become inextricably tangled with the fence in the act of climbing over it. The dog waddled under the bottom of the fence easily, before setting off on an expedition around the field. "You don't mind, do you? He won't bother the horses, probably just track them. Badly, mind you. I swear, for a Basset Hound he has the worst sense of smell." She was looking off at the grass, as if trying to determine if it really was greener (which, she decided, it wasn't), before returning her gaze to Kyle.

Kyle watched as Rowan climbed over the fence then he watched as the little hounddog on his own little adventure "No not at all" then he continued "He'll probably learn to be a true hound dog one day" he said smiling as he looked at Rowan then away again. He guessed that his own little expedition of the field had paid off in that end, he wasn't bored anymore that was for sure.

She shrugged noncommittally, "I couldn't care less if he couldn't smell a skunk right under his nose," she said, watching Sherlock out of the corner of her eye but now looking squarely at Kyle with her head slightly to one side as if contemplating him. She was glad to have come across him, having been in need of a little conversation and company. If anything, she was glad that Kyle was not his staunch, rather stoic cousin, whose company she found comforting but not at all amusing or... well, exciting. Jason seemed to be one of those people who just went where the wind took them. "Anyway," she said after a moment, as Sherlock disappeared over a hillock. She didn't mind this, knowing that he would return when he was done with his little romp. But she didn't really know what to say after that.

Kyle looked back at her "Soo, I don't think it would be nice if we just had a staredown" he said laughing as he watched the horses in the distance. He crossed his arms again as he wondered what he should say next, usually he would be the one to jump to conclusions and just throw out stuff left and right without really thinking what he should say next. The he said suddenly uncrossing his arms "It was really nice to meet you Rowan, not many people pass through here randomly" he said smiling

At his words, she broke her gaze immediately, apparently not having even realized that she had been staring. "Sorry," she said, with a sheepish expression on her face as she looked at the ground slightly to the right of her boot. Sherlock was no visible threading his way back across the field, his white tail tip poking out above a patch of long weeds, tongue lolling out as he came. She grinned at Kyle's next words, looking back up at him but not staring this time. "Yeah, it's really nice to meet you, too. And I suppose most people don't just wander around in the country, but it works for me," she shrugged, not really caring what most people did to pass the time, or that most people didn't walk out into the middle of nowhere just to see the horizon. "I guess you don't get a whole lot of people out here, it's really lonely and quiet... Tranquil, y'know?"

Kyle looked up at the sky then looked back at Rowan and laughed "Yeah, the lonliness place is being in the countryside, although its is pretty quiet, however I'm hardly here, seeing as it is so lonely" He smiled for it was true, he was almost never home, today was just one of his lazy days. Usually he was out roaming around town looking for something interest to stick his nose in, he enjoyed meeting new people, new places and such, for if he didn't do new things he would be boring and probably just as lame as his younger cousin.

"Well, you know, this town isn't exactly what I'd call booming with activity in the first place..." Rowan said, grinning, looking around at the way the light fell. Sherlock had set off at a lope towards them, and now tripped over one of his long ears and flipped, head over heels, landing with a sharp little yelp of surprise on his back in the grass before rolling fully over and setting off again towards them, panting at Rowan's feet as she bent over to give him a scratch behind the ears. After that, he seemed content to lay sprawled out on his side and sunbathe. Rowan chuckled. "Guess that means it's even luckier I'm here, then."

Kyle nodded "That's true, but no matter what the activity is in town, I can something interesting" He smiled as he watched the little hound dog run then trip over his ear. The dog was a realy klutz, that was true, but very entertaining to watch as he sunbathed in the sun's rays. He smiled at Rowan's next statement "Yeah, it was really lucky for you to just happen on this place, I thank you for curing my boredom" he said jokingly as he watched Karla start to gallop, for apparently no reason, throughout the field, with Cal many lengths behind, who was just walking behind the cremello mare.

Rowan grinned, leaning back against the fence lazily, looking off into the loping sky with its feathery mane of clouds. The sunlight was still glaring off of her glasses, but this seemed not to bother her very much in the least, and in fact she was positively soaking up the sunlight. "That's good, I suppose," she said at last, grinning, as a little breeze flirted across the vast expanse. She laughed at his next statement, and gave a sloppy little curtsy in mocking reply, "my pleasure entirely, I assure you," she said, grinning and putting on airs. "All joking aside, however, I'd better get going in a little bit, I have to feed my horse." She said, frowning a little at the prospect of having to leave the peace and beauty of the field and it's inhabitants.

Kyle smiled as he looked off into the field "Well horses do have to eat after all" he said in reply looking back at Rowan "It was nice to meet you Ms. Rowan, perhaps we can run into each other again sometime" He said as he watched Karla and Cal approach him again, clearly wanting to eat as well.

Rowan nodded, a little sadly, perhaps, in having to leave the company of someone she found so interesting. Her smile reappeared, however, at his next words, "Yeah, I'm sure I'll see you around. After all, it's a small town." She said, as she clipped Sherlock's leash back to his collar. "It was nice to meet you, too, Mr. Kyle." she said, grinning and putting a joking influence on the 'Mr.' She climbed back over the fence. "Ah, it really was greener over there after all. I'll see you around!" She said, waving brightly and returning back down the road from where she had come.

Kyle watched as Rowan climbed back over the fence and he started walk away from the fence as well, seeing as his cremello mare and brown gelding found their little romp through the field less interesting now, but a realization hit Kyle like a slap in the face. He didn't want to see Rowan go! He didn't know why, but it was probably because he was so gosh darn bored all of a sudden. He usually didn't care whether people stayed or left but another realization hit him, he was starting to show behaviors that his younger cousin Jason possessed, it was driving him insane! He didn't want to be like Jason AKA Mr. Suck Up. However, at the moment, Kyle was increasingly bored so he tried to think up an excuse to cause her to stay for a few moments longer. He literally jumped over the fence and, realizing that his excuse wasn't exactly an excuse he called "Hey, you forgot your....uhh"

Rowan had looked back over her shoulder to wave at him again, and caught the motion of him literally jumping over the fence. "Hey!" she said, insanely jealous of how tall he was for a moment, and how long his legs had to be to clear the fence that was meant to keep horses in. then it occurred to her to wonder why he had jumped the fence in the first place, and at his words she looked around desperately for anything she might have forgotten. "Uh." she said, after a moment of looking around, "No I didn't." Sherlock took the opportunity of her hesitation to lay back down on the side of the street in the sunlight, and she cast an exasperated look at the dog, frowning slightly, wondering what she could have forgotten. Strictly speaking, all she had brought along was the dog, and she was reasonably sure that she hadn't forgotten him, considering she was holding the leash in her hand ans he was definitely still on the other end.

Kyle looked around for a few moments, not knowing what to say as he glanced at the little basset hound then back at Rowan. "Yeah I know" he said laughing, a bit nervously, "I was trying to think of a an excuse so that you would stay a bit longer, but as you can see I'm not very good at making excuses" He said as he looked at the Sherlock again.

Rowan stopped frowning, and now she was smiling, a little bemusedly, her face quite a delicate shade of pink. "Were you really?" she asked, chuckling. "To tell you the truth, I didn't much want to leave, either." She said, shrugging slightly as if it didn't matter, at the same time knowing that she really did need to head back. A few minutes, though, wouldn't matter as far as she was concerned, and she knew that if she was really late the vet (at whose premises Ginger was currently staying so as not to stress her out with a trailer ride), would feed the horse in any case.... and she could always go and visit the horse later, after all.
