Her long sleek legs slid through the grass which seemed unusually sharp against her body. Her hooves thudded in the soft dirt and she knew where she was headed. Her eyes were focused on one dark hole looking entrance into the rock surrounding or as she called it "The place where foals went when they felt someone might actually want them" Delicacy Dream, AKA, DeeDee slid her dark bay body through one of the many entrances into this rock enclosure. She pranced around, her solid bay head, except the exception of her white dot in the middle, flung around and her nostrils flared.
She didn't really want to be wanted by another horse. She hated being ruled and she preferred to roam freely. Yet, something had called her here everyday since she had found this place. And she kept coming untill something happened. Maybe nothing would happen, but she would wait. There was the slight scent of humans here, but it didn't worry DeeDee. No one would be able to take the trip to this place, except a wild horse who knew the ways of the land.
She let out a high shrill of a whinny, greeting the world. Her ears were laid flat against her head and her eyes flickered around. Did any other horse know about this place? Probably, since it wasn't that hard to find if you weren't looking for it.

I was bored. No, I wasn't bored. I was boring. I had no one to hang out with. No one to talk to. Nothing. Which was making me boring. Feathered daggers beat the air and ground as I pounded across the terrain. I didn't want to get soft, nope not me. A shrill whinny graced my harks and they flickered toward the terra. I did not know where it was coming from, but I would find out. Black pelt glistened underneath the sun and I trotted amicably toward the sound, letting out a neigh toward wherever the sound was coming from. A breeze threw my tendrils every which way, but I did not care. As I came closer, I could smell a mare. No, not a mare. A filly. I wondered what a filly was doing out here. All I've met is a mare and that was it. This place was...deserted to say the least. Ah well, I would figure it out. I would find others and bring them to this Elysium. I had yet to figure out where my own piece of Heaven was, but maybe with help I would. There were so many decisions to make. I came upon this area that seemed to be blocked by these rocks and I could not find an area to fit in, but the scent was strongest here. I stood there before finally seeing a little flicker of movement showed that someone was in there. My ears perked and my raspy voice (from not using it, of course), was produced, Hello. Only one word, that was all I would use.

Had it been just my tricking imagination? Had some horse just spoken in a raspy voice just outside of my hiding place? DeeDee snorted and glanced around cautiously. Her dark bay body had froze in mid-step and her ears were now pricked towards the opening the sound had seemed to come from. When looking out the small opening DeeDee saw a black shape. Not a shape, A horse. A black feathery looking horse. She scented a male. She took one step closer. Hello.
DeeDee snorted, and backed one step. Hello... she paused sliding through one of the other openings and appearing on the black horse's left side. Who might you be? she questioned with her singing voice.

The breeze ruffled my feathers once again, and now I was getting a little irritated. I shook it again, rolling my eyes. The little flicka came out of her hiding spot, and I stood there, relaxed. Yes there could be a chance that the mother or father could be hiding out, but hey what were the chances? There were just as many good as evil equines all around. And I happened to be one of the good guys. I remembered when I used to be so full of energy and curiosity. Yes, those were the days. I am Nox. And who are you, young one? I looked over at her with kind eyes, wondering why she was here. Every horse had a history, whether dull or traumatic.

The horse turned to stare at her. She swished her tail and lightly stomped her foot scaring away the nagging flies. I am Nox. And who are you, young one? DeeDee took the words in. Nox was an interesting name. Never before had she heard a name like this one. What was this horse's life story? Was Nox a kind one? Yes, DeeDee believed Nox was. Nox looked at her with kind eyes, curious eyes.
DeeDee.. Or Delicacy Dream but, DeeDee. She stuttered, trying to find her words. She flicked her ears towards the friesian. DeeDee's eyes became curious. She took another step closer, settling in to a soft patch of softened dirt. May I know, what you are doing here? Where have you come from...? Dee had so many questions for Nox. She hadn't seen a horse in a long time.

Deedee, eh? I listened intently, catching every word, every syllable. I pondered her question, effectively thinking, wondering, how to answer. It lightened my face, and excitement was thrown into my voice. Ah DeeDee, I come from afar, through great adventures and deeds. This is but a stop on other trips I intend to take, whether here nor there. Mostly, I planned on staying here, but I felt like embellishing just a little, for Deedee's sake. It felt like adventures I had taken everywhere, but whether or not they could be called that I did not know. What brings you here? I asked, curious, looking over at her and then scanning the horizon, making certain that no others were coming out to harass them. I was enjoying the company here today, one that actually talked words and not just some faint whispers of thoughts.

She flicked her ears, intently listening to Nox's story. He seemed to like to travel a bit much. Well, she couldn't say much for herself because she had traveled many places as well. Though she had never stayed more then a split second to grab a bite to eat or drink. She had traveled far, at a fast pace. Almost killing herself times because she just wanted to run away from what had happened. Leaving her mom had been a horrible... DeeDee snorted. Not time for those terrible memories. She was enjoying herself talking to some one who didn't act like they were going to take her in, so she liked that.
What brings you here? DeeDee looked around. That, she did not know. Why had she been in that area that was for foals who wanted to be adopted, or an area that was most likely known for humans capturing the foals. Why? DeeDee shook her mane. I -- She had nothing yet to answer that question. She didn't want to sound stupid, saying she didn't know but that was the truth wasn't it? I don't know. She said in a soft whisper, looking towards the ground.
DeeDee let her eyes look back up at him. I guess, I just travel in nowhere specific. I have no home, and the last home I had was the best one and it would never be the same so I guess I fear that if I stay in one place and have a family again it will get taken away like that night.. When I lost everything. She shied away, ramming her rump into the cold rock stone. She had said too much.

My hark turned toward her, listening to her intently. I looked down at her as she stopped, wondering what was wrong. For a foal to be alone though, anything could be wrong. She started again before all of a sudden moving away, as if afraid. I wanted to shield her from any pain, but I could not. Not yet, we were still just in the formalities. I didn't want to say I'm sorry, that was way too...generic. And I am not generic AT ALL. I am unique. You can be with me if you would like. For the time being, at least. I plan on staying here for a while. I have yet to set up a home, but maybe you could help me find somewhere? I didn't move toward her, not wanting to crowd her too much. I just awaited her answer.

She looked at him now, farther away than before. She didn't take another step forward. He didn't ask anything else, just stared at her taking things in for a few moments before speaking again. Thankfully, not another question. You can be with me if you would like. For the time being, at least. I plan on staying here for a while. I have yet to set up a home, but maybe you could help me find somewhere? DeeDee stared at Nox. He seemed kind, he wasn't pushy, and he didn't act like he was going to scoop her up and eat her for breakfast. It shouldn't hurt her to stay with him for awhile. Atleast untill she was grown and could take care of herself. They could travel together and meet new horses.
I need to think about that. She said softly, her voice just above a whisper. So that is what she did. She thought everything over, seeing what the good and bad things were if she decided to go with him. In the end she decided... I will come with you. We can find a place to stay for awhile. But don't expect me to stay with you forever. with that, she turned and started walking off, hoping he would take the que to follow her. [/size] [ ]
