I pulled up the driveway slowly, 1500 dollars behind me. I didn't want to jostle Fireworks, although I don't think she would care as long as she got to be right beside me and get all her attention that she ever wanted. I came to a slow stop next to the mare barn and hopped out of the truck, scanning the area to see if everything was alright, and it seemed like it. I jogged to the back of the trailer and opened it, letting the sun filter through all the dust. We're home. I stated, clipping the lead line on her before coming out of the trailer. I made sure to stay out of her way, didn't feel like being jumped on by the big dog. I didn't know what the others were going to think about her, but that didn't matter. Sweets was already at the fence, looking over at the newcomer, wondering who it was while Fuego paced up and down, wanting to meet, wanting to see if it was a stallion or mare. Don't mind them they're just brats. I wasn't going to add the 'like you' like I wanted. Before putting her out in the pasture, I took her into the stable, looking at the stalls. I decided to put her in between Pandora and Sweets, knowing that at least they wouldn't tear each other up like maybe Fuego would. I let her in the stall, taking off her halter and lead line, scratching where the halter used to be a little bit before exiting the stall, leaning against it first, trying to figure out what to do with her first.

Fireworks didn't mind the swaying and bouncing of the trailer behind the truck. She was too interested in the view outside the window as a barn came into sight. The trailer rolled to a stop and she eagerly leaned forward as Pablo came in to clip on her lead. She drank in the scents of several different horses and they came into view as Pablo led her out of the trailer. A mare and a stallion watched the newcomer, and she let out a friendly greeting call as Pablo led her into the barn. Hopefully this was just a pit stop before he let her out into a pasture. And no such luck. Her heart sank as he led her into a stall and took off her halter, freeing her head from the light constraint. He left and shut the door, though he stayed outside the stall. She investigated for a moment, pleased that though she was shut up, it was a roomy place, and comfortable. Coming to the door after an examination of her new home, she reached forward for Pablo, lips outstretched as she sought his shirt. Continuing the reach, she looked about a bit at the facility that she could see. It was nice and welcoming. She would like it here. Now, why wouldn't he pet her, rub her face, something! Or let her out, that one would be good too.

I walked into the mare barn leading Rain into her stall, she was getting better each day and only made leaps and bounds to her recovery, the vet had just come out to check on her and had said the infection in her hoof had gone, so after that I had let her out into the pasture for a little bit and she seemed to enjoy it, now she was content in her stall. Hearing hoofs coming down the aisle I looked out of the stall and saw Pablo leading a new mare down the aisle, alright girl tomorrow you can go out into the pasture longer. I patted her neck and opened up the door and walked out, shutting the door behind me. I walked over to Pablo and wrapped my arms around his waist, such a pretty mare did you just get her? I questioned, I smiled and let go looking at him and the horse she was really a pretty little mare and Pablo had yet to find out about the mystery stallion who just showed up.

I know brat. I said, rolling my eyes as I stroked her neck. I wondered how she would be if I just let her out, seeing as I remembered how she acted at the sales barn. But I didn't want to take the chance, yet. I looked over, a smile crinkling the skin around my eyes as I saw Sammie and Rain before going back to Fireworks. Maybe I would just let her out in the pasture with Sweets and Fuego, although I really did want to ride her. Maybe another day...I don't know, I was torn. I felt the arms around me and put one around her, squeezing her before letting go. Yep. It's not a horse though it's a dog and she goes by Fireworks. I looked at her halter, wondering if maybe I should purchase a new one, but I didn't know. Maybe once I won the lottery I would. Ain't that right girl? You'd rather be a dog that way you could actually be affectionate and not hurt the humans. I was joking of course. She would never mean to do any harm.

A new person came into the barn, leading another horse into the barn and into a different stall. Fireworks retracted her attention from Pablo and focused on this new girl, stretching out to her and lipping her lightly in greeting. She certainly smelled nice, like Pablo, and Fireworks liked her immediately. Though her main focus now was getting outside somehow, pasture, a walk, a ride, something. Moving closer to the door, she reached to rub her forehead against the girl, not pushing as hard as she had with Pablo, feeling and seeing that she was not as big and didn't weigh as much as he did. He could take her pushing and could push back. Her spotted hide twitched as she shook off a fly or two, her black frosted mane falling messily to both sides of her nape. After examining the door for a moment, she found the latch and began to play with it. With her old family, she had figured out how to open the door, until they had put a special lock on it that she couldn't open. She never ran away, she just wandered around a bit. But she wouldn't do that yet. She didn't want them to sell her, especially since she had just gotten here. Fireworks stretched her neck up, trying to relax. But she had too much energy! She just wanted to romp and roll and graze out in the fresh air, if only just for an hour. She had been cooped up in a stall long enough at the sale place, and she didn't want to be stuck in one forever. Maybe the girl would let her out. Ceasing with the lock, Fireworks reached for the girl again, aiming to lean her roan head against her bicep, in attempt to sugar her way outside.

I smiled giving a little laugh she did not seem like a dog that was until she lipped me and then started rubbing, I pushed her head back into the stall alright so she is dog like and the name fits thats all I have to say. I smiled and watched as she played with the latch all I could think was oh goodness another Spirit but she stopped and leaned her roan head against my arm, I understood what she wanted but that was up to her owner if she got to go outside, I cant let you out into the pasture its up to Pablo as to where you go so ask him. I smiled and looked at Pablo, I think she wants to go out side so you should probably bring her out before she does something stupid or escapes herself as she seems full of energy. I waited for him to speak as I stroked the mares nose.

Yeah I know. I said, scratching her nape before grabbing the halter, surveying it for a second. No, no new halter just yet. I entered the stall, quickly putting the halter on and clipping the line. You can go and enjoy a few hours' romp with Fuego and Sweets. I opened the stall door a little bit, quickly flitting through before opening it wide for her. I could hear Fuego letting out a neigh as I walked Fireworks toward the pasture. Ah well, maybe tomorrow they would ride. No, no maybe. They would. Sweets looked up at her before going back to grazing. Fuego, on the other hand, was pacing up and down the fence line as if there was nothing more important than Fireworks at the moment. I opened the gate, shutting it behind me to make sure that NOBODY decided to escape. Unclipping the lead line, I stroked her cheek once before backing away and out of the pasture. Fuego quickly bounded up, ears back, head up, showing that he was alpha. Sweets could really care less, nobody bossed her around. She was only bossed around when she wanted to be.

Fireworks began to shuffle back and forth as Pablo picked up her halter and strapped it on. Now she was excited as he opened the door to let her out. Now she could greet the other equines, perhaps play, perhaps gossip or just graze and ignore each other. But at least she had the option now. The other mare didn't seem too interested, which suited Fireworks fine, but the gelding seemed a little over excitable. Well, she could be too, so it was fine. Once Pablo unclipped her lead and left the pasture, Fireworks turned to see the gelding galloping up to her, trying to be impressive and dominant. I don't think so. Once he had come close, Fireworks said nothing before she reached out, quick as a snake, aiming to lightly nip his exposed and muscular chest to show him he wasn't going to pull that crap on her. Back up, she raised her head as well, her auds pinned back also. I don't think so, big boy. I am my own. You can go play your dominance game with someone else. With a toss of her head, she went tear across the pasture, looking back to see what the gelding would do. She kind of hoped that he would chase her, as that would be a great deal of fun, a good game to play, rather than just wandering around doing nothing.

The Spanish Mustang took off after her, ears raised this time, but stubborness invading his eyes. Hooves crushed the ground, leaving his imprints as grass churned and some was thrown around. His head reached lower to the ground as he settled himself into another gear, the land around him becoming just a fierce blur, from the white fence to the green grass that offset it. There was no one else to play the supposed dominance game with, so instead he was stuck acting like a two year old once more. Making sure not to get by her hindquarters just in case she decided to let out a fierce kick. He was gaining on her, but they would have to stop or slow down and turn or something because the end of the pasture was coming up quick. Pablo watched, leaning against the fence as the two raced. Fireworks wasn't about to take any of his shit, that was for sure. Sweets ambled up, looking for a treat or two or three. He scratched her neck fondly, losing sight of the other two. He figured he would stay here for a little while, make sure they didn't hurt each other too much. Sweets could have cared less, she just wanted to get her attention, and if nobody needed her, go about her own business. She was ready to plant her own branding on whomever got close enough to her if they wanted to, what was the word again, oh yes, "play". All of a sudden she felt a slight pull in her mane and she shook it, dancing away from Pablo. He rolled his eyes, he should know better than to do any grooming when the horses are out to pasture.
