Why the sun?

I followed after her, letting her have her time with the two before following. I looked at the two, a small grin upon my face, lighting it up a little. After a few minutes, I walked in as she stood next to Rain. I walked slowly forward, staying next to the stalls so she could always see me. I peered in, looking at the exhausted filly before looking at the mare again. No we won't. I murmured, coming up to her and slowly putting my hand forward for her to sniff. What do you want me to do? I asked, looking over at Sammie before looking back at Rain, not wanting to take my eyes off her. Although she seemed sweet and timid, I didn't want to let me guard down just yet.

I watched as he looked at the filly and then extended his hand to the mare, who sniffed his hand satisfied he was not going to hurt her she looked straight head closing her eyes in contentment. I guess give her bath with this stuff and then dry her and then soke her hoof and put the ointment on and then the pad and wrap that goes after that. After that she can go in the stall on the left of the filly and get some rest her self. I stroked her neck as I herd Spirit scrap his hoof on his stall door, Im going to walk Spirit before he does something stupid. I smiled and walked up to the tack room grabbing everything he would need, I brought it back and set it down, giving her another treat before going up to Spirits stall. I walked in and patted his neck, I think every one herd you. I smiled and clipped his halter and lead rope on. When he walked out of the stall calmly and the barn with out an chaos I reward him out side with a treat, we walked down the driveway aways before I turned and took him down one the trails he seemed to understand this was going to be our new way of achieving his needs, my phone rang and I stopped Spirit and looked it was my mother, I answered re assuring her everything was fine, Shaking my head and putting my phone in my pocket we began walking back to the barn in complete peace.

I nodded as she took Spirit out. Well, at least I would be able to get work done without Spirit interrupting. I looked at the beautiful mare before grabbing the lead line, grabbing the stuff and taking her outside in the warm sun. Get you done with your bath so you can relax sweetie. I muttered, getting the water going. I ran my fingers under the water, and soon enough the bath was done. I noticed them walking back up as I was just getting done scraping the rest of the water off. I started walking her in aimless directions, letting the warm sun dry her some more before taking her back int he barn. I figured the sun would feel good to her, but I didn't want to keep her out too long either because she must have been tired. I kept whispering nonsensical words to her calmly as I watched Sammie with Spirit. I did not think he would give her any trouble, but just in case I wanted to be on hand to help. I remembered him with Fuego, but I didn't know if he would act the same or maybe he would act like a gentleman. I scratched her neck gently, looking her over. It was a terror to see, really. But if someone had ever watched anything on Animal Planet they would know there is far worse out there. It was a good thing that Sammie got these two to take care of. They would have an amazing home here.

I stroked his neck as we hit the driveway heading toward the barn. He did not get excited when he say the mare he just lowered his crown and continued along side me. I thought about it for a moment, alright what is wrong with my horse? Who replaced him because this is defiantly not how he acts and that spirited spunky side better be back when I start riding him barrels again or we were going to have a problem a big one at that. As we calmly walked past them and in to his stall, I un did his halter and left the led attached and he just went to the back of his stall and waited. Really? This horse was acting out of the norm, I figured his normal self would be back tomorrow. Walking out I clipped the stall guard up so he could at least stick his head out and have a little bit of freedom he came up and hung his head over it a sleepy look in his eyes, I rolled my orbs, this little im going to be a good stallion and behave better stop when we ride barrels because we can not be sluggish around those. I eyed him and then gave him a treat before leaving to hang his halter up and go out to Pablo and Rain, when I reached them I shook my head I don’t know what got into that horse but hopefully it will not last I need my spunky horse back for barrels. I smiled and looked at Rain, she looks good really good much better then when she arrived. Patting her neck I waited for him to say something.

I brought her back in once they passed, putting her in her stall next to her daughter. I would let her succumb to the relaxation of the stall before messing with her hooves. Although she seemed at ease, today might have been a very changing lifestyle for her. I figured she needed to relax before I did something else with her. I don't mind, makes my job a little less life threatening. I flashed her a quick smile before putting my arm around her waist again. Yeah, but it'll take some time before she is fully healed. Emotionally and physically. I looked in the stall before looking over to the filly's. Anything we need to do with her? I leaned against the stall, looking in at her. She was so tiny, I had almost forgot how small a foal could be even though they grow at extreme rates it seemed. At one moment you could pick them up if you strong enough the next you'd probably break your back. I listened intently for a second, making sure I couldn't hear any ruckus coming from the pastures. That would be just my luck.

I rolled my eyes it may make your job easier but it makes showing him hard. He flashed me a smile and then put his arm around my waist, ya but she is well on her way I watched as he looked in Rains stall and then pandora’s, I herd some rustling in her stall, I looked in an noted she was up now, I don’t think there is anything we have to do with her she is pretty clean and she was just fed so she should be good for awhile so nope that means you have a brake. I smiled, Pandora was a small foal but I knew in a few months she would be a whole lot different then now. I looked at him before kissing him, see there is a plus to being on brake, I smiled again and watched as Rain made herself right at home, I took his hand only this time I did not drop it I swung it back and forth wondering what he was planing on doing now that he really had nothing to do, I looked at him before looking outside still swinging his hand.

I nodded, looking at Pandora before turning toward Sammie. I felt her lips against mine and I wanted to hold the kiss for just a few seconds longer, but she broke it apart. I intertwined my fingers through hers as she swung our arms. I thought about it for a moment before cupping her cheek with my free hand gently and then kissing her again, this time tenderly, holding the kiss. It felt like time had stopped and then I finally broke it apart. It was only seconds, but it felt like hours. Which this time was a good thing. When I spoke, my voice was low, a little husky. Whatever you want to do, today is your day. I pushed a piece of hair from her face, waiting for her answer. I walked outside, making sure to keep my hand in hers, hoping that she would follow me. I did not feel like staying in a musty barn, no matter how much I loved working in one. There was so much to do, but no it was HER day, and I wanted to make her happy.

I felt him cup my cheek gently and then kiss me tenderly he held the kiss before braking apart it was only a few seconds but it had felt like ever I smiled as he spoke his voice low and a little husky, he pushed a piece of hair out of my face, we can go for a walk to a spot I often go. I followed him as he went outside before taking him behind the stable and up a path. The path its self was surrounded by trees and had an up hill climb, when we reached the top we were greeted by the setting sun, the hill had one lone tree upon it and lots of grass and flowers. I led him over to the tree and then sat down I still had his hand and I looked up at him is this place not amazing? I asked him I hoped he liked it I stood and took his other hand, swinging both of them now. The rest of it was up to him, I smiled and waited.

I smiled and nodded, following her to her own favorite spot. My mind wandered over so many different things as we walked, the sun setting, splaying many different colors all around. I let her sit down as I looked around us, the sight devastatingly beautiful. She spoke, and I looked down at her. So many different things I could say. She stood up and I let our arms swing. I took her in, from her stitched up hand to her eyes to her smile. Everything. I all of a sudden let go of her hands and wrapped them around her, pulling her to me while making sure not to hurt her. I just wanted to hold her. I remembered yesterday once more. I do not know how someone could harm her, how someone could just come up and try to kill her, to take her away from me. You are so much more amazing. I whispered before finally letting go. This time I sat down, hoping she'd sit next to me and we could watch the sun set before going back.

All of the sudden he dropped my hands and wrapped me up, pulling me close to him. I smiled wrapping my arms around his waist as I listened as he spoke, I really did not know what to say, thank you. Was all I could say he let go and sat down, I sat down next to him taking his hand again. I wanted to kiss him again and hold it until the sun went down but I did not I held back just running my thumb across his palm, I still could not believe he was mine and that we had only met yesterday and that was almost taken away by idiot ex who should very well be in the funny farm, I sighed it was so much to think about in one sitting that it over whelmed me. I leaned back against the tree, my eyes closed for the briefest second before opening again, I think you get to decided what we do after this. I turned to face him still holding his hand as I waited.

She took my hand again, and this time my smile was gentle. I turned her hand palm up, running my fingers lightly across the skin before tangling my fingers in hers, squeezing it. I wanted to kiss her again, but I decided against it. But there's so much that we could do. How about we compromise? I suggested, whispering, not wanting to disturb the serenity that was around us. I sighed, leaning against the tree myself. So much work had been done today, but not nearly as much as could have been. I knew what a real working ranch with a ton of horses were like, but I was up to the challenge when Cedar Creek took off and all of a sudden became that. The deep pinks and purples started glazing over in darkness as the last remnants of the sun started disappearing, but I didn't watch it. Instead, I turned toward her, cupping both cheeks with my hands and I kissed her deeply, not even paying attention to what was around us. I moved one of my hands and let it run through her hair before resting on her back.

I smiled as he said we could compromise, a compromise? but before I could get anything else out he cupped both my cheeks and kissed me deeply, I forgot the sun set no I was focused on him and only him not about what was going on around me. I felt one of his hands go through my hair and then rest on my back, thinking that he had forgot the world around him too, I pulled back wrapping my arms around his neck noting that it was now dark, I laughed time flys when you forget about it, I found myself being drawn in again but who really cares I smiled and kissed him again it was passionate and tender something on the lines of his last kiss only just a tad different, it would not be hard to find our way back I knew the trail by heart, so I focused back on him and nothing else.

I didn't say anything, just let the kiss go on. And on. And on. Never wanting to let go. Finally, I pulled away, catching my breath. Unfortunately, we can't stay out here too long. And your hand needs to be cleaned. And as I recall you promised me dinner. I pretended to put on a grumpy face as I got up, putting my hand out toward her to help her up. I looked around, a little wary of the darkness. But dammit nothing would ruin this night. Nothing. I looked back at her, a little tense this time, wanting to get out of the dark. Yes, now I was a little afraid of the dark after what has happened, but I couldn't help it. Everything seemed to happen when the darkness could creep in around me, and I didn't want it to this time. I took a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves.

Smiling as he pulled away, I listened as he spoke. I shook my head I totally forgot but good thing I started it during lunch hope you like seafood. I smiled just a little hint nothing big, I was going to make seafood Alfredo only it was just going to be shrimp, I took his hand and stood. looking at him I could tell he was tense, I put my finger to his lip, shh there is no reason to be afraid of the big bad night. I took his hand and brought him back down to the house, I had left it un locked this time so I walked in took my boots off and went to the kitchen putting the shrimp on and boiling the noddles, once the shrimp and noddles were done I heated up some Alfredo sauce nothing to hard, I placed the noddles on the plate then drizzled some sauce on top of that I put the shrimp on last and put a little more sauce sticking the pans in the sink, dinner is served I laughed and set the plates on the dining room table, I will be right back. I walked up stairs and took my meds and changed my shirt just a simply layered tank top sighing I walked down stairs and sat at the table waiting for him to join.

I looked about as I walked with her, making sure that no idiots were around. I do the dishes. I added as we walked into the house. Taking off my boots, I walked back outside quickly and slapped them together to knock the dirt off them, not wanting to get too much on her floors. Walking back in, I could already smell the smell of Italian, but moreso the shrimp. I wanted to help her out, but it seemed like she had everything under control. All of a sudden, it was done, just like that. She walked away and I went and washed my hands, also rinsing off some of the dishes and letting them soak. I didn't want too much of a hassle when I cleaned the dishes. Taking a seat after she did, I mixed in the shrimp and pasta before taking a small bite, pretending to be hesitant as if I feared it was going to be poisonous. But then I smiled. It's wonderful. I stated, this time diving into the plate.
