At the edge of a small gathering of water stood a mare, she was short in stature- only just 15hh, and her body was thin and absolutely beautiful, with stunning curves and thin muscles under her greyed out, strawberry roan pelt. But she was not alone as she drank from the water. Standing not far off was a stallion, physically less attractive than the mare. But it was clear to any who would see them that they were related, brother and sister. For his pelt held the same washed out coloration of the mare's, but with blue instead of red. He wasn't much taller than her, standing at 15'2 hh. Both were of indeterminate breed, a mix of many different sorts. The mare displayed some of the more graceful characteristics of an arabian horse, while her brother was much stockier in his build and seemed closer to a Quarter Horse, but they both picked up qualities of the other. The blue stallion lifted his head from grazing and glanced over at his sister for a moment. She stopped drinking and looked over to meet his eyes, both looking at each other with identical colored eyes. Without speaking they both just nodded slightly and returned to their previous activity.

The equine carried himself in such a way that made him stand out from any old rugged stallion. But of course the stallion always had a slight arrogance to the way he carried his large head but his intelligence showed much stronger than that trait. He picked up his legs carefully, hardly making a sound as he made his way through the basin. Then he came to the small gathering of water, he had finished his daily exploring of the lands for today. He flared his nostrils as he took in the scent of the clear liquid then he snorted as his eyes caught the apperance of two roan horses. They looked similar, very similar, except that there coloring was of a different hue and one was a bit thicker and stout than the other. He didn't want to spook the horses with his sudden apperance so he opened his maw and nickered quietly to the mare "Hello there, my name is Crusader" He said introducing himself to the two equine. He hoped that they would introduce themselves as well, but you never know

Queen was the first to lift her head and look at the stallion who had come upon them. Her strawberry head turned to face him, her eyes considering him, judging him and clearly studying him. As she looked upon him, her brother had noticed the stallion as well and came over to stand at his sister's right side, close enough that the two were in contact, and the contact calmed them both. The blue roan stallion lifted his head up to his full height, his eyes also focused upon the other stallion, but with less intencity than Queen's eyes (which were still wandering over the stallion's body.) Woebegone bobbed his head slightly, darker hued tassles bouncing as he spoke. "She is Queen of Cups." He introduced his sister. The strawberry mare nickered slightly and grined. "He is Woebegone." And then the blue roan picked up speaking again, almost as if they'd rehersed this a thousand times before. His voice was lower than his sister's, and he spoke more quickly than she. But their voices were otherwise eeriely similar. "We are pleased to meet you." Queen nodded her agreement and quipped in. "Indeed, we have not seen a new face in sometime."

The stallion dipped his head to the two roan equines. "It is a pleasure to meet you both" He raised his head again. He tilted his head observing the equines for a few short seconds then he set it right again. They seemed to be new to the lands since they didn't smell like the landscape as much as the other wandering horses did. "Pardon my asking, but where did you two come from?" He asked kindly. He couldn't quite place what kind of lands the equine had come forth from. He thought hard about it for only a moment but he decided that surely they had come from faraway, or maybe not, you just never know about some foreign equine. He finally decided that perhaps he should tell the equine where he had come from, or where he had come from in present time, and not past. "I am from Whispering Creek, I am the lead there"He spoke simply, there wasn't anything special about being a lead, either you were or you were not. But he didn't want the equine that stood in front of him to think of him as a complete stranger, he simply wanted to be a friend to them, nothing more, nothing less.
