The brown stallion rushed out of the trailer, glad to be free of it dark clutches. As he set foot on earth again he kicked out and turned on his haunches, as he watched the gate close behind him. He flattened his ears, he was never much of a jumper, he was more or less speed than anything else. He backed up and looked around the pen, then pricked his ears, he had no idea where he was. But of course it smelled like human, it reeked of human. He jerked up his head, pulling the rope from the ground, he wasn't the kind of horse that would trip over something like that, he knew better.
He swung his head around and watched as the human put food in the round pen. The brown equine was pretty much skeptical of accepting any more food from this human, what if she attempted to trick him again into the metal crate? He swung his head around again and observed the water. He flicked his ear then swiped his tail across his flanks, trying to figure out what he should do. Either way he would have to approach the human, which he was pretty much against. He lowered his hand and sniffed the dirt at his hooves, although his eyes were still looking at the food and water.
Suddenly he lifted his head abruptly and turned his head to nibble at his mud encrusted bodice before looking forward again. He started to walk slowly towards the water, his eyes watching the human warily before he was finally upon it. He stuck his head into the water bucket and quickly made work of the wate then he looked at the human warily once more before he began to eat the food in the other bucket. He swished his tail, scaring away a few flies that were annoying him then he cocked a hoof as he continued eating. After a few moments, the near famished stallion had finished the food that was in the bucket, not even leaving a single morsel. He threw his head up abruptly and pinned his ears back aware that he had been terribly close to the human. He immediatly started backing up, then he accidently stepped on the lead rope and he bucked until the rope came off from underneath his front hooves. There a somewhat ashamed air around the stallion as if his dignity had been injured slightly but he soon got over it. He approached the bucket again and lowered his head sniffing the bucket, eyes still on the human girl. He took a bite out of the bucket until he realized that although it smelled like food it definately was not food . He flicked an ear then backed up again then stretched out his neck so that he could sniff the human before turning on his haunches again and trotting the interior of the pen. He flicked his tail across his flanks as he trotted, but he was content to be able to be moving around the pen, soon enough he was cantering.

Taylor watched as the stallion watched her every move. She loved watching him watch her really. It was something she wasn't used too and well she wasn't sure if she will ever get used to it. She never had an animal watch her so closely before as this fine animal kept his eye's and ears on her. She wasn't sure what to do about it,but just watch him aswell. Taylor eye's moved to the sky as she watched the clouds."Lucky I wish I was a wild horse just like you. Just to run as fast as you can across the land. But I'm keeping you from it. I wish I could just take you to the wild lands and let you free forever."She looked at him with tears in her eye's."I used to have a Mustang and now she is free and runs across the skys. She stepped in a hole one day when we was checking cattle and broke her leg. I tried everything to save her,but knew that I had to let me go." Taylor looked at him and just leaned her body on the fence. She was sitting on the ground as close as she could to be close to him. Taylor watched as he stepped on the lead rope and started bucking."Easy buddy. Careful now." She told him as she got up. She opened the gate and walked into the pen while closeing the gate."Now buddy, lets get that nasty rope off of you."She told him,but didn't budge at all she just stood in the middle of the pen to watch him run around. He was swift and carried his body very descent and was smooth.Taylor loved watching him move across the fence. She forgot all about the rope, but new that it would take a long time before she got it off of him. She smiled at him."Your such a pretty boy. I bet your even gorgous once you are cleaned up."She looked at him and knew that she was getting a bond with this stallion even though she knew that he didn't trust her at all. Taylor knew that if this stallion ever needed anything she would give it to him no matter what.

His hooves dug into the earth as he stopped abruptly. He swung his head to the side as he noticed that a prescence had entered the pen. He was having the time of his life running around the enclosure until the human came in. He threw up his head and turned around so that he faced the human, he wouldn't have her sneaking up on him again. He eyed her for a few minutes, unsure of what the upwalkers motives were. He flicked his tail across his flanks, contemplating on what he should do. He had two instincts, fight or flight. He could not flee seeing as he was cooped up in this man made monstrosity, and he certaintly would not fight the human. He may have had a mean temper, but he was certaintly not stupid. Although, an idea arose in the brown stallion's mind. He started to approach the human, he wanted to see what this upwalker would do for he did not sense an evil air coming from this one like all of the other filthy brutes did. It had been many suns since he had an owner wasn't a devil in disguise. He stopped a few lengths away, just enough distance for him to stretch out his neck to take another whiff of the human, oh no he wasn't going to get any closer than that. He valued his life. He retreated from the close proximity and approached the buckets again. He nudged the buckets for a few moments before throwing up his head again and walked towards the gate. He could have sworn this was where the human had come into the enclosure, he used his nose to push on the gate but it did not budge. A sigh escaped the stallion's nostrils as he looked behind him at the human, he flicked his tail across his flanks. He turned around again then trotted to the other side of the pen in a prancing, you-cant-touch-me gait. He turned around again and looked at the human, his ears came forward once more. The stallion was anticipating when the human would hit him or punish him but the upwalker had not done anything of the sort. The stallion cocked a hoof again, he was still waiting for the human to make the wrong move.

Taylor watched as the stallion stopped. She barely breathed a single breath when he stopped. She was ready for the stallion to charge at her so she closed her eye's. Wasn't ready to get trampled to death, but she atleast didn't want to see it coming at all. Taylor almost wasn't ready to hear the breath of Lucky's take in her scent. She was ready for alittle something more, but when he just trotted away Taylor just smiled. This was the only the first time she had been close to Lucky and didn't want to spoil it. She watched him go to the bucket and pick it up with his teeth."You won't get anymore until this evening buddy. I can go grab you some hay though and alittle alffala since you can't go out and eat grass you could use some hay."She walked careful out of the round pen and walked into the barn. It wasn't a very fancy barn, but she loved this place cause it was her dreams. She went into the barn and grabed a bale of hay and walked back out and set it down on the ground. She cut the wire and grabed a couple flakes and threw them onto the sand into the round pen. She forgot about the Alaffa so walked back to the barn and grabed a flake of it and walked back and threw it over the top of the fence."Alright there you go bud. I don't want to bother you while you eat."She told him so she left him be. She went to her truck and jumped in and took off to park it close to the house. She got out and went into inside the house and grabbed an apple. She walked back out and to the barn. She finished her apple and looked at Lucky. Then placed it on top of the fence and went inside the barn. She grabed her saddle and bridle and took it outside and began to clean it on such a nice day and watched Lucky while she cleaned her tack.

He turned his head as he watched the hay be put into the pen. He flattened his ears for a few moments as he pondered if he should go and eat it or not. He flicked his tail across his flanks as he turned around and looked at the outside area surrounding the pen. Lucky had grew bored of this nonsense. Finally he snorted before turning around again and slowly walking towards the hay that lay on the ground. He started eating the alfalfa but his eyes were trained on the human, they were a sneaky bunch and he knew it. He raised his head while still munching on grass and swung his head around, his interest else where as his ears pricked.

Taylor sat there on her but cleaning her tack while she watched Lucky eat his Hay. She didn't have no one to see or go anywhere. She didn't have much firends at this new place and really wasn't to worried. She was a loner in most parts of this world. She never cared what people said about her unless she heard it and they was talking about her right infront of her then maybe she would get mad,but other than that she hated gossip.Taylor watched the stallion as his head perked up to look around. Taylor stopped what she was doing and stared at him with a smile. She was so happy to be here with him. The day was such a beautiful day with lots of beautiful things happening. It was like a dream come true to have her own little place and no one come to intrude on it.
Taylor finished cleaning her tack and placed everything back into the tack room and walked down the stall's of the L-shaped barn. She wished she could have alot more room, but this place would do alright for her for now. She liked the quite place of this small small town and having this small small house didn't hurt her feelings no way. She was thinking about buying another horse. She looked at one the other day and seemed like a good horse. She bought it,but hadn't yet broung it back home yet. She was also thinking about rescueing an animal. She loved to rescue horse's and other animals so it wouldn't bother her if she got a goat or ducks. She needed animals cause they needed her. She smiled at the Lucky and walked back over to him."So Lucky. How lucky are you?'She looked at him and opened the gate and stepped in. She watched him and went into the middle of the round pen and stood there and watched him. She didn't have nothing on her other than her phone and didn't want to hurt this animal. He was already scared to death and she didn't want to scare him anymore. She should probley just leave him alone and let him settle down, but what would it hurt to stand here and watch this wonderful horse?

Lucky looked behind him as he noticed that the human had entered the pen again. He swallowed the hay and flicked his ear What exactly was up with this human? He used to the burly men that forced him to run for long periods of time until he could run no more. The stallion was even more surprised that this human fed him. His ear flicked as he remembered how he sometimes went days without food at the hands of the other humans. He did not get this human, not at all. His eye was still on her after a few more moments had passed, he had heard the human speak, but of course he did not understand. But he did understand the word Lucky He remembered when he was a foal, that was the first thing a human said to him and that was one of the few words he actually understood. His name.
The brown stallion did not believe that he was lucky, but was it pure luck that he happened upon this human? He flicked his tail across his flanks again as if felt the flies aggravating his flanks. He turned his body now and looked at human dead on now. He never knew the taste of wilderness. He was born in captivity, his parents were the wild ones. His sire, could never be tamed, he was more bronze than brains after awhile. The stallion snorted when he remembered the day his father was taken away, never to return. Luckily, he got to stay with his mother. Oh how he loved his mother! His mother was a fast horse, and her owners loved her, and competed with her in barrel races. They always wanted to do the same for Lucky, until he was sold to the wrong person.
He flattened his ears again and bared his teeth, he was the type of equine that remembered everything and forgot nothing. Lucky! Some kind of lucky he was to end up in the hands of so many cruel people. He always did what they asked of him, but they never treated him right. What had he done to deserve the treatment he had received? Nothing. He pricked his ears again as he dismissed his unpleasant memories, and focused his gaze back on the human. Should he give this upwalker a chance to prove herself? He flicked his tail across his flanks still staring at the girl before he took a few steps forward until he was only two or three feet away from the human. He lowered his head, still watching her. He would give her once chance, and once chance only. If she proved to be like the others, he would show no mercy this time. The unforgiven could never be forgiven could they?

Taylor looked at the stallion. He seemed happy about all the food he was getting. She didn't know how his life was or how to ran either. She was just another person in his life that might be good or bad,but Taylor had no mean bone in her body when it came to animals. She always cared for them and never turned her back away from any animal that needed her help. She could alway recall her mother getting angry at her for being in stray animals into the house. She would bring cats, birds, dogs, rabbits, chickens, ducks, etc. Anything she could or they found her she would bring in and take care of them. She had tons of animals and would always care for them the right way. So why would she change now?
Taylor watched as he turned his body to her. She trusted him and knew that he wouldn't try to hurt her. But she also knew that if she made the wroung move it might end her life. Taylor looked at Lucky. He seemed to be thinking about something cause she could tell his body relaxed then it tensed up once agian. She watched as he flattened his ears and bared his teeth at her. She wasn't sure if it was toward her if it was then she would get out of his space as soon as possible. But she was surprised when he took steps toward her. She reached her hand out very slowly so he could smell it. She wasn't going to reach up and pet him until he trusted her that she wasn't going to do any harm to him. She watched careful with both eye's. She didn't want to intrude or get bittin by him at all. But she waited to see if he would smell her hand or run away.

The stallion watched as the human outstretched her hand towards him. He was still contemplating on what he should do then he snorted, flicking his ear. He took one small step forward and sniffed the human's hand. They all smelled the same to him. He lowered his head until his muzzle was resting in the palm of the girl's hand before raising his head again and backing away a few steps and his gaze returned to look at the human again. He flicked his tail in the air a few times before nickering quietly as his ears came forward again.

Taylor smiled when he came closer to her. She didn't move a muscle and watched him. His body shake from the fly's attacking him. She felt bad for him since he was all muddy and the fly's was bitting him. She wished she could spray some fly spray on him,but then he would probley freak out and same with the brushing. She watched as he sniffed her hand and backing away from her. She knew he didn't trust her or anyone so she couldn't do a hole lot for him until he trusted her. She laughed as he nickered at her and his ears coming forward looking at her. She didn't know what to do. So she back away a couple steps until she was a couple feet away from him. She didn't want the threaten his space. She watched him and smield."Hey they Lucky." She looked at him and then took a couple steps forward and kept her hand to her side. Then walked to the side and began to watch him alittle more careful and looked at his body alittle more.

L U C K Y Sound the bugle now - play it just for me As the seasons change - remember how I used to be Now I can't go on - I can't even start I've got nothing left - just an empty heart Lucky pricked his ears, surprised at the human for two reasons. One, she did not hit him or yell at him. Two, she was backing away from him. He observed her for a few minutes, a skeptical look in his eyes. He sidestepped to the right then to the left in a goofy horse dance. He backed up a few steps and reared, but now there was a playful look in his eyes. His hooves were placed back upon the earth then he loped around the pen, before digging his hooves into the earth and sliding to a stop. He spun around on a dime and trotted over until he was behind the human. His nostrils flared as he took in her scent then he nudged her shoulder with his nose, before turning his head to nibble as his dirtied coat. He flicked his tail across his flanks and waited. So be strong tonight - remember who you are Ya you're a soldier now - fighting in abattle To be free once more -Ya that's worth fighting for

Taylor smiled and looked up at the stallion Lucky. He was something special in Taylor's heart. She loves mustangs cause you have something of the past that made the land, but here in the future to support how the west was made. She watched him move around the round pen. She laughed at the playfulness on how he moved. He was a silly horse really which made her smile all the time. She kept her eye's out on the mustang as he came to a sliding stop all natural and his spin wasn wonderful. She now had plans on reining him. His movent flowed which was good as anything. She smiled and felt a nudge at her shoulder and she laughed and turned around. She reached up to pet his forhead. Not making fast movements so he knew that she wasn't go to hit him. She looked at his coat and frowned."You need a brushing."She told him and walked up the round pen and found the box on the other side that had a couple things in it just case she ever need anything. She found a brush in there and smiled. She walked up to him with the brush in hand. It had hard brussel's to get out any kind of dirt. The cooling fall breeze wasn't good. She would soon have to put him in the barn so he wouldn't get cold at night. She looked at him and smiled."Wanna get the itch dirt off?"She asked him and let him smell the brush first before brushing his neck.

L U C K Y Sound the bugle now - play it just for me As the seasons change - remember how I used to be Now I can't go on - I can't even start I've got nothing left - just an empty heart The brown stallion simply flicked an ear as the girl petted his forehead. He listened as the girl spoke strange words then he swung his head to the side as he watched her as she came back with a brush. He flicked his tail across his flanks, he had not seen a brush since he was a young colt still at his dam's sides. Which probably meant he had not been brushed since he was a yearling, which wasn't all that hard to believe with the mud that was plastered all over his coat long since hardened by the sun's harsh rays. Some would have thought that his past owners would have at least given him a bath of some sorts, but they refused, figured that not brushing the horse was good for him. He flicked his ear again as he heard his new owner speak her strange words again. He sniffed the brush as she held it out then shook his head as she brushed him. Lucky snorted before shaking his head again, but he was entirely calm as the human brushed himSo be strong tonight - remember who you are Ya you're a soldier now - fighting in abattle To be free once more -Ya that's worth fighting for
