Name: Desita (Desi) Age: Four Gender: Mare Breed: Quarter Horse Height: 16.0hh
Physical Description: Desi is the definition of her breed. If she had been in captivity then she would have been known as a Racing and Hunter Type Quarter Horse. She was bred for short distance sprinting, as her ancestors had been tame horses. Desi has long legs and is leaner than her Stock Type counter parts, but still has the characteristics of a Quarter Horse. She has powerful hindlegs and basically overall strong legs. She has a broad muscular chest and shoulders and a small, refined head of a standard Quarter Horse. Her type almost closely resembles a Thoroughbred but not quite as slight. Desi has a copper tone to her Chestnut colouring, so would be known as a Liver Chestnut. Her coat is always short and glossy, besides Winter when it becomes too cold for that. She has a blaze down the front of her head and it ends in a little pink around her nostrils. She has uneven white socks that vary but aren't very long.
Personality: Desi is very strong willed and confident, she won't let anyone tell her what to do unless they have earned her respect and knows that what they are saying is right. Even so, she is polite, she will not speak where it is not her place to speak when she is in one of her quieter moods. Desita is kind and very sociable, she likes to have company around her, but she is okay with being alone. She is one of those types that can deal with life which ever way it comes. Desi is very self reliant, and she doesn't like to have anyone look after her, she thinks she's too much of a burden. Desi enjoys life as it is, you couldn't find a better temperament in a horse.
History: Desi was born in Captivity, in a little ranch in the middle of the hills. Many wild horses roamed around here, but they never captured any of them. Desi was three and was already trained for being a Schooling horse. Her personality was well suited for it. One day a lightning storm struck over the ranch. No one worried, during that time of year the storms were likely with the ever changing weather. Though when the lightning actually struck the ranch and set it on fire, everyone panicked. No one was at the ranch except the horses. It started to collapse and the horses started to jump the charred and broken stall doors, or just knock them over. They all escaped into the hills, panicked and confused. Desi was one of the last to leave, the fire had almost engulfed the Ranch before she made a break for it. All she could see as she looked back was her home collapsing in a mess of fire and charred ruins. Many horses stayed around and waited for the owners to come back. Desita didn't. Curiosity drew her out into the wild, where she would stay.
