Registered Name: Firewaterontherun
Barn Name: Lily
Age: 4 years
Gender: Mare
Breed: AQH X Thoroughbred
Coat: Buckskin
Markings: Forehead Star, Snip, 3 socks
Height: 15.3
Discipline: Barrel Racing
Apperance: Lily is a mare of average height. Her coat is is honey brown with black points on each leg, classifying her as a buckskin. Her mane is black and reaches her shoulder while her forelock covers the crescent moon like marking on her forehead. A small white marking is also evident on her small delicate nose. She posseses qualities of both her sire and dam. Her frame is stout and her muscles show greatly throughout that frame. Her legs are not short but neither are they super long. Although they are long enough to give a good grip on the ground to help her gain speed.
Personality: Lily is a very quiet mare and also mannerable. However her firey personality really shows when she's in the arena and racing around barrels. The mare is certainly not lazy but neither is she picky towards anything. She does not act like a mare at all, even though her features are clearly very feminine in apperance. Her ears are always pricked forward, as she always wears a mask of alertness. Her face shines with intelligence and a will to learn new things, seeing as she picks up things very fast.
Sire: Firewatersayswhat (AQH)
Dam: Dash For Gold
History: Lily was born on Laura's parents ranch. The mare was born to one of Laura's former barrel racing mares, Dash For Gold, whom she competed nationally with. The mare was a filly when Laura had left home, still at her dam's side romping and playing in the pastures like many young foals did. Laura did not know it but her parents were attempting to train the filly then send it to their daughter, as a gift to try and get her to come back home, but clearly that was not going to happen. So Firewaterontherun, as she was registered, was halterbroken right about the time she was weaned then as soon as she hit 2 years old, she was sent to the ranch's trainer who trained all of the horses Laura barrel raced on. The filly was fairly easy to train, as she was a quick learner much like her dam. Soon enough the filly had learned the barrel racing pattern and at 3 years of age, she was sent off to her first rodeo. The mare placed second out of a group of other barrel racers, and the Engvall family were excited at the mare's sucess. Throughout the mare's entire third year, she was raced every other weekend sometimes placing first, other times placing second or third. The Engvall were not happy however when the mare came in last place at one race, and she was thrown right back into training to cure her problem which caused her to knock over a barrel, which was the rider's fault and not the horse's. Once her fourth year approached, the Engvall family discovered the whereabouts of their daughter and shipped the mare to their daughter. But to their dismay, neither the horse or their daugther returned.
