sparrow o'dell still felt like an outsider. she was new to this place; the only things she knew were her animals. the eighteen year old sighed, looking heavenward. her gypsy vanner, ximena moved beneath her. the young adult had ridden bareback, not wanting to bother with a blanket or saddle. all that was found of the gypsy was a halter and lead rope. maybe it was bad that the young girl was lazy. but she knew xia preferred this. her red roan, red, was following them. the bad thing about two horses was you never wanted to show favoritism but the bad thing about one horse was they were rarely happy. she sighed, knowing she'd have to find a job if she wanted to support herself, her two horses, and the border collie that had danced in red's path. both horses snorted and spar smiled for the first time since she had arrived to this foreign area. she had simply pointed to it on a map and went. she was trying to escape the cities and the foster care. she sighed once more, weaving her tan fingers in the white mane of her mare. the red roan, jealous of the affection towards the new horse, pressed his body against spar's legs. a giggle escaped her lips as she wrapped the rope around her arm, patting her first horse. the border collie saw the acts of love, and whined. the girl sighed, unsure if the dog could even get up here. she pulled both horses to a stop and asked the gypsy to lower herself. she did, no hesitation, and the border sat in front of spar with a bark. the gypsy rose and they continued once more down a trail, through a meadow. soon all eyes were on the lake. red instantly walked ahead, drawn by the water. the border collie, sage, decided to abandon horse and skip ahead. xia, not pleased that all were getting to the water before her, snorted sadly but happily. sparrow rolled her eyes and dismounted the draft mare. she clipped off the rope and the mare danced away, joining her companions in the water. sparrow rolled her eyes and walked to the deck. remembering her past on the swim team, she pulled away the loose shirt, revealing a black bikini top. she had worn shorts and she looked around. should she keep them on? afterall, any one could show up. she left the black shorts on, mostly because they were waterproof. she backed up a few steps, watching her animals in the corner of her eyes. red was resting in the water. xia was dancing about. sage was going after a piece of driftwood. sparrow smiled. all were happy. she ran and jumped off the dock, diving flawlessly in the water. the cold water surprised her but she remembered how winer had passed not too long ago. she smiled when she came up. her brown hair in a ponytail and soaked. she giggled when her draft noticed her in the water and surged towards her. she giggled and swam as fast as she could, hoping to escape the mare.

Kyle walked through the lush woods, his cremello mare followed closely at his heels. Kyle was feeling pretty lazy today, he had tacked his mare up and everything but as soon as he had got to the place had wanted to go, he didn't feel like riding anymore but he didn't want to go back home, not just yet. He patted the mare's nose as the mare nudged him in the shoulder, apparently wanting him to walk faster. Kyle ran off a little bit, allowing the mare room to trot behind him and they both stopped when they finally came to the lake. Kyle looked at the lake for a few more moments and then walked to the side of his mare and slipped the saddle and blanket off and sat them down near a old pine tree that was by the lake's shore. He took of his hat and placed it on his saddle horn and then he grabbed a handful of his mare's creamy white mane and jumped onto the horse' s broad back and he held on to her mane as the mare waded into the water's of the lake. The water was freezing cold as it rose above the horse's withers and then to his waist. He slid off of the horse's back and watched as his mare swam off a little ways and then came back to him, he patted the mare's face again.

sparrow o'dell propelled herself through the body of water. she dipped and smiled at the feel of the water. when she brought herself back up, she noticed an older body with a cremello equine. spar hesitated, should she go to him or stay away. she noticed her gypsy start wading to the mare and the boy. xia! she called. she noticed the gypsy vanner look towards her. spar grunted, realizing the mare wasn't going to approach her. she pulled herself towards the mare, smiling when her red roan gelding came to the rescue. she heard sage's yips and noticed that the border collie was resting on the dock by sparrow's shirt and shoes. red pulled his girl to the gypsy vanner who had stayed still but trembled with excitment. the eighteen year old smiled sheepishly at the boy and mare, moving with the flow when ximena waded towards the two. hi. sorry about ximena. gets kinda excited sparrow apologized as her mare whinnied, as if agreeing. she felt more waves and saw red standing beside ximena. even sage, the energetic border collie, had splashed back into the water to check out the new rider and mount. red and ximena looked at the mare. hi there! ximena whinnied happily. i'm red. this is ximena, but xia is easier red stated with a snort. the tri-colored border collie climbed onto xia's back. sparrow looked at her animals while she paddled her feet. she watched as her animals barked and whinnied, obviously conversing with the mare. the girl looked at the boy and stuck out her hand. hi. i'm sparrow o'dell. i'm new here she stated.

Kyle looked up as he noticed someone a little ways off he waved to her for a few moments and he nodded simply then said "Hi there!" He wiped the water from his eyes with his hands and then he watched as his mare turned to get a better look at the other horses. The mare whinnied excitely to the pair of horses, Hi Xia and Red, my name is Karla The mare shook her head and swam in a circle around Kyle just for the heck of it.
