Okay, where was Eddie? Where was her human to take her out today? Isn't that what they were here for, to wait on all of them hand and hoof? Well they were slacking big time! Where was anybody? Anyone? C'mon, bored mare in here! Kyss looked about, her chestnut neck weaving as she pranced in front of her stall, her forelock falling in front of her eyes. She was so bored, the sun was shining, the grass was green. It was time to go. Like now, no not later, NOW!
It seemed SO LONG AGO where she was always outside with her mother. Standing there, doing nothing. Well her mom was, Kyss was always out doing something or other. Playing with the other horses. Playing with the other animals. Playing with the fence posts the lead lines and pretty much anything else that she could get to. Rainy and snowy days were not on her list of things that were fun because that usually meant the stall. The boring stall where horses sat there, chewed on hay and OH MY GOSH A HORSE JUST MOVED TO THE LEFT ASTOUNDING! And then stood there and chewed on more straw. That's when chewing on the wood came in handy, as such were the marks made by her on the stall door. And the hoof print that was implanted a little bit on the wall (what she just wanted to practice her kicking) and the water bucket spilled many times.
The energy was burning a hole in her fur! See, right there, right there that spot right there, yeah that's where the hole is from the energy that was being locked up inside her. The three year old quarter horse could no longer take it! She banged on her stall door as if ringing a bell, wanting some service dammit! Okay that's it. She hoisted herself on her hind legs before letting out a screech and then circling her stall, digging pace marks into the ground before kicking at her stall door again. This is what Eddie gets for keeping a cute destructive mare. Tsk tsk tsk. [/blockquote]

Eddie bumped up the drive to the mare and foal barn, Achilles beside him in the truck and Devan snug in the trailer behind. He was proud of his find, already completely in love with the stunning palomino mare. A foal from her and Winchester would certainly be an interesting one, particularly if it had her coloring with his rare brindle markings. He could see it now. Coming to a halt, Eddie hopped out of the dark blue Ford, Achilles scrambling after him before running into the mare and foal barn, where he stood before Kyss' stall, greeting his best friend in the whole place.
Eddie shook his head, and lowered the ramp before entering the trailer and backing Devan out carefully. The mare's coat shone in the sun and he patted her nape, pleased that she was in a good mood. He had watched her fight with the stable hands at the place he bought her, and it was one of the reasons he purchased her, for her spirit. Leading the abnormally placid mare into the barn, he passed Kyss' stall, pausing for a moment as he surveyed the damage. Really, Kyss? Chill, you'll go out in a few. Let me get her settled first. With a shake of his head, he walked a few stalls down and across the aisle to an already prepared stall. He sent Devan in, where she settled nicely and began to eat the hay in her manger, sending little glares to the obnoxious mare a few stalls over every so often.
Turning from Devan, Eddie grabbed Kyss' halter off the peg and quickly slid it on, buckling it tightly and attaching the lead as soon as it was strapped on. Holding tightly to the lead, he unbolted the door and allowed the frisky young mare out. He couldn't help but admire her. Her chestnut coat shone with health, and she was playful and lovable. He remembered when she was a little filly, not to long ago, and her friskiness had only gotten worse with age. Rubbing her cheek, he began walking, leading the way outside, with Achilles bouncing happily alongside the mare. You want out? Fine, you get out. And stop cribbing. It's not good for you. Just because you get bored doesn't mean you can destroy the stall, you pain. As he lectured her, he opened the nearest pasture gate and shut it behind them. Once he was sure the gate was locked, he unclipped her lead, but didn't leave the pasture, just waiting to see what she would do.

Kyss pranced next to him as Eddie led her to the pasture. The sun hit her coat and it shined underneath the warm rays. She loved being out here. The smell of the grass got her excited, but not to eat it, to tear it up like she did her stall. She didn’t mean to do that to her stall, but she had nothing else to do. There was like no one else around to pay attention to her. And she needed 24/7 attention, all day every day. Finally he let her go, although it seemed like it took forever. His words had gone in one ear and out the other, and now it was time to play.
Walking a few steps away from him, she let loose, dirt flying behind her as she took off at a dead run as if she were flying, mane and tail billowing behind her as she met the fence, turning it quickly and following it, ears perked and eyes bright with happiness. Hooves tore at the grass underneath her as the sunshine glinted from every angle as each stride was taken, gaining ground. Her legs showed the muscles that she was gaining as she pumped even faster, her breathing coming in gasps but she did not want to stop, though she did slow down to a canter as she turned another corner sharply, this time going diagonal across the field, no longer spraying dirt everywhere as she collected herself, head bowed a little bit as she met the fence and this time only slightly turned, looping around Eddie before coming to a stop next to him, nudging him. Why wasn’t he playing? She needed a buddy, otherwise playtime was no longer so much fun.

Eddie grinned as he watched the young mare bolt across the field. She would be a perfect barrel racer, or roper. She had the energy, speed and agility to do it, and do it well. He would have to get on training her soon, she wasn't even broken yet. She needed something to do anyway, or she would drive everyone crazy with her antics. Kyss needed a job. Eddie's dark eyes watched her take corners and make her way back to where he was still standing. Soon she had reached his side, and was nudging him, pretty much begging him to play with her. It had been so long since he had played with her, back when she was just a little filly. And he had nothing to do right now, why not?
Reaching out swiftly, he gave the copper hued mare a shove before running through the grass away from her, stopping with his arms spread and his legs bent in a defensive crouch, a grin on his features as he waited for the high-strung filly to come charging towards him, as she was bound to do. She couldn't resist playing, she needed a young companion.
Achilles, seeing Eddie run away, was instantly on his feet dashing after the man, who gave him a playful swat as he came near. Crouched by his side, butt and tail sticking up in the air, the gold canine also waited for his best friend to come play with them as well, giving an excited bark, tail waving furiously as he watched the mare. Eddie clapped his hands, making sure he kept Kyss' attention. Come on, pretty girl. Come get me.

Kyss felt the shove and looked as he ran away. Should she chase or should she not? Hmmm that was such a tough one. All of a sudden a dog barked, and there was her bestie Achilles! Oh there was no choice now, she was going to have run at them! Pawing at the ground like she was a bull, she started off at a walk as if she didn’t care before turning into a gallop, head bent toward the ground as she did not come to a stop, coming closer and closer to Eddie and Achilles before swinging by them, changing her gait to a canter and then a jog as she nudged both Eddie and Achilles before taking off toward the other side of the paddock. Stopping there, she bent her head down, flicking her tail at the imaginary flies. She pulled at the grass, chewing it slowly as if they could not catch her in a rousing game of catch me if you can. She was faster. She knew it. Which means she won. She kept one ear turned toward them though so they could not sneak up on her unless they were wearing their super-sneaky shoes today. The grass did not taste as good as it usually did. Maybe because it had the essence of others wanting to get her. She looked over at Achilles again. Now if she was able to get him on her side then they would SO overtake Eddie. Her devious mind considered this, trying to figure out the best ploy to do such a…genius thing. [/blockquote]

Eddie and Achilles held their ground as they watched Kyss come closer and closer, a reckless grin on Eddie's face. He knew the mare would stop, or swing around them. She had excellent control, nor did she want to hurt either of them in anyway. And swing around she did, nudging the two of them, knocking Eddie off balance and causing Achilles to tip over. The dog, annoyed at being pushed over, raced after the jubilant filly, barking madly, his intention to play a rousing game of tag. Eddie took off after the dog and horse, coming at Kyss as she chewed the grass with arms spread in a threatening, yet playful gesture.
Achilles reached her first, barking like crazy as he bounced around his best friend, thick tail wagging madly as he ducked close to the mare, then away, barking as he enticed her to play. Eddie came closer, watching to see what she would do assaulted by two different characters. She could still easily hurt him or Achilles completely by accident, though he knew that both himself and the dog could get away easily if they needed to.

The sun overhead beat on her coat, but she could have cared less. A breeze swept her mane and tail as she continued to graze, as if she really could care less that Eddie and Achilles were right there. The three year old just glanced up as they came near, an ear turned in their direction that was assailed with mad barks. She pushed at the grass with her nose, trying to find the buried treasure that was underneath. Brown eye looked from Eddie to Achilles, wondering which one should be her next ‘victim’. However she let the suspense grow as they just stood there. She was completely relaxed, her tail was beating at her hindquarters as flies barraged her but then were chased off. She shook her mane as she took a few steps away before wheeling around on her hindquarters toward Achilles, head bent down and ears down as if she really were menacing before trotting after him then turning the corner quickly as her gait changed to a canter, legs pounding the Earth with her hoofprint that would disappear in the next rain as she went after Eddie this time. But then an idea struck her that sounded even better. Sliding to a stop, she walked up to him, this time nudging his arm incessantly. Here she was doing ALL this work for him, and he had yet to give her treats. There really was something wrong with this picture. And Achilles! Achilles was out here working too, he deserved a treat!
