She wiped at the falling tears again, finally getting them to stop. Looking over at him, she nodded. Sorry about that. God now you must really think I’m crazy. She grabbed the tissues that she knew was in her bag and dabbed at her eyes, trying to wipe away any signs of tears. Her eyes were red and puffy. She felt spent, the tears having sucked her energy as she had let them just flow. She sighed and grabbed her bag, slinging it over her shoulder. God I’m sorry. Thanks for checking on me. You’re a good person… C’mon she could do it. Jason. She held out her hand for him to shake it. It was clear of tears and everything. She just wanted to get out of here, get out of the town. She had just made a scene and now she just wanted to be able to melt back into the background, into oblivion. Invisibility was the best way to be. She did not mess with anyone and nobody spoke to her. Why she broke that she did not know, but all she knew was that she had learned her lesson. [/size]

A look of suprise crossed Jason's face but it faded as soon as it had come as he shook Abby's hand, but somehow it was all strange. He couldn't quite say it was wrong but... He smiled slightly "No I do not think you are crazy. Everyone cries every once in a while." he said shortly thereafter. He watched as she slung the bag over his shoulder and he thought about something for a few quick short moments in hesistation "Are you sure you are going to be alright?" he asked soon after, why did he worry about people so much? Why couldn't he just leave well enough alone? Why was it so hard for him to do anything? To just walk away and just forget he even met this girl who clearly was broken at heart or something of the sort. Jason mentally sighed as he thought about what he should say next, he chose his words carefully, however they still came out strange, perhaps he wasn't thinking straight either "Are you on your way home?" he asked suddenly, he didn't want the girl to run off and hurt herself or worse... I am a true sucker... he thought to himself as he looked at Abby, the worry arising in his gray eyes again.

She looked at him. He was a nice guy, and he had no idea what was going on. She would keep it that way. They were her injuries to heal, her burden to carry, her war to win. It was and remained no one else’s duty and she would never lay it on them either. Taking out her ponytail, she redid it. It gave her something to do with her hands rather than just stand there awkwardly. Yes I’m fine. She said, regaining her composure and able to give him a quick smile. I’m going to see my horse. And pack him and myself up and get the hell outta here. But would she add that part, heck no. Then it would make her look like a chicken, and that was not what she wanted either. Gosh, sometimes she was too complicated even for herself let alone for anyone else. The sun beat down on her, but she wished it would rain on them instead. She wished she had never come over to him, talked to him. She wished she did get up and just go to the barn and see Rudolph. He was the only thing allowed in her life that was male, nothing else would ever creep into her life that was filled with testosterone. [/blockquote]

Jason shrugged slightly at what the young lady had said to him. He got the feeling that she just wanted him to go away and leave her alone. He had tried to help, was he regretting doing so? Yes, yes he was. He had done nothing wrong, no of course not, but he felt as if he regretted it all. He was slightly hurt by her words, but he really didn't know why. He just stood there for a few more moments, rather dumbfounded, if there was a word for his actions. He sighed and looked up to the sky, the sun's rays beat down on his face as he thought if he should say anything at all, but he really could not think of anything to say. He wished he wasn't nice at all, then maybe the girl would not have came and talked to him and maybe he wouldn't be standing here, looking as if he had made a big mistake by trying to help someone that looked as if she wanted him to just disappear into thin air. Oh..man...I have just ruined my entire day.... he sighed again as he looked at the sky for a few more moments until the bright sun started to blind him. He wiped his face with his hand slowly and then looked back at Abby. The only words he could get out were "Umm....." He hesistated, he couldn't find any other words to say, yup, he was completely dumbfounded.

Abby quickly slid past him and to her driver’s door of the truck, throwing her bag onto the passenger seat, the better. The sooner she got to Rudolph, the better. Then the sooner they got out of this town, the better. Maybe she would invent the first car to ever cross water to Europe, wouldn’t that be something? But she knew it would never happen. Her heart hurt a little as she looked over at Jason. The poor man was barraged by her from the beginning, and he had to suffer through it. Was she like this with her ex? Did she drive him to become the way he had, cheating, beating, lying, drinking? No! Those thoughts could not cross her mind, but they did and doubt started to emerge, trying to take her under and strangle her with guilt. But she was not going to allow it. She was stronger than this. That manipulative bastard had done this to her and she would not allow it to take her down when he was not even around! That was going too far. She counted to five, keeping her eyes closed as she did, and at five she pushed the fear away into its own little Pandora’s Box, hopefully never to be open again. At least not around others. Messing with a rock on the ground with her foot, she looked toward Jason. I’m sorry, I usually don’t act this way, I’m usually not so rude. Just a new town, new life, a whole new beginning. Guess it’s just a lot at one time. [/blockquote]

Jason sighed and smiled again as if he had just mentally let go of something. He thought about something that he had been thinking about ever since he had saw Abby in Java Joe and then he mentally agreed with himself "Well, I really do hope you are okay" He said quickly as he glanced to where he had parked his truck a little ways away from where he was standing and then he looked back at Abby and smiled one last time "It was nice meeting you, I hope the rest of your day goes well" He started to walk to his truck then he stopped just about half away and looked over his shoulder and called to Abby "See you later" It was just about time for him to go home anyway he realized after he had bid his farewell to Abby. He really did hope that the rest of her day went well for her, it was just his way of thinking about some things, the welfare of other people.
