He was just about to leave when he heard a voice nearby, shortly after, he realized it was Alyssa's voice. It sounded as if it came from the barn, and immediatly he figured that something was wrong. Without a second thought, he quickly rushed over to the barn to find Alyssa holding on the stall wall. Alyssa what happened? He asked suddenly, he could tell by the expression on her face that she was in a great deal of pain, that was obvious. He wasn't exactly sure how to help for at the moment he had not the slightest clue as to what had happened to her.

Her knuckles were white from the grip she had on the wall as Jason rushed in and asked her what was wrong, she looked at him and started speaking softly to herself making herself not focus on the pain, Spook kicked me in the knee the one I had already had repaired before, I need to go to the hospital. She tired to speak it calmly and with out as much strain in her voice as possible but it was very hard to do such a thing. You can just drop me off and leave so you can feed your horses, im sure they are going to order an emergency surgery so I don’t know how long it will be. She looked up at him and waited.

He listened to her explain then he nodded Alright, I'll take you to the hospital He looked at her for a few moments, assessing the situation I'll carry you to my truck He offered. He figured that she wouldn't be able to walk seeing as she was kicked in the leg by a horse. He carefully picked her up, trying his best not to add to the pain he knew she was feeling and carried her to his truck, quite effortlessly.

Alyssa knew it was easy for him to carry her, what could she say? She loved to eat right and stay in shape, nothing better then having a model type body that was taught from years of work. As they reached his truck he set her down on the seat with out bumping the knee. She leaned against the window and looked out, she was not a fan of the hospital but that’s just how it had to be. She sighed, thanks for taking me I should be out today but im not for sure they might just end up keeping me and then there will be all that rehabilitation I have to go threw later but im done thinking about it for now, she silently waited for them to leave the house.

He closed the door as he got into the truck There isn't a need thank me He said soon after as he started up the truck. He didn't need gratitude for helping someone in need, anyone else would have done the same. He thought to himself as he drove to the hospital. I sure do hope you will be alright He spoke afterwards as he drove. He wondered if it would have been faster for him to just dial 911 or something but he figured that driving there himself would have also been easy, either way Alyssa would get to the hospital

She smiled, I will be fine im pretty sure I know what is going to happen and I also know I am going to be sleeping in the living room for a couple weeks because im not going to be able to make it up those stairs all by myself. She sighed and watched as the country side turned into the town with buildings crammed in ever space. Finally they pulled up to the dreaded place and there was a nurse standing outside who greeted them and helped her get into a wheel chair, I will be fine have your phone on you so I can call you when im all done. She smiled and blew him a kiss before begin wheeled briskly into the hospital. She explained everything at least a half a dozen times, then xrays were taken and as soon as they came back her whole knee was screwed up more like shattered once again and she was rushed to surgery. She woke up some time later, vision was a little foggy and she had to blink a few times, Alyssa can you here me? Yes I can. Good your surgery went fine, you will be on crutches for three weeks, then we will fit you with a mobile brace so you can start walking on it again and strengthen it your self, rehabilitation will be for about two weeks starting as soon as you get your new brace. Now I know this is not your first time but you need to take it easy, don’t walk on it don’t nothing with it before it has time to properly heel. She nodded, well I think you will be good to go, just sign here and I will be back with your crutches and clothes. The nurse had to help her dress and then Alyssa took the crutches and walked down the hallway on crutches. She found a nice bench outside to sit on and call Jason she waited for him to answer.

He arrived home not long ago, and usually it would have been a good thing to have finally come home, but somehow it didn’t feel to great. He had immediately went to go feed his horses, seeing as he could hear their shrill whinnies and nickers from down the road. He wasn’t going to feed his cousin’s horses because they wasn’t his responsibility. And he didn’t even know what his silly cousin fed them in the first place. He was greeted by his brown gelding Cal in the pasture. The gelding was sniffing at his pockets and looked up at him hopefully. Sorry boy but I don’t have any feed on me just yet He grabbed a hold of the gelding’s halter and led him into the barn. He watched as Dundee’s blazed face peered over his stall door, gazing hopefully at Jason. Jason laughed as he returned Cal to his stall. He quickly gathered up their feed and filled their buckets while filling their hay nets and refilling their water troughs. He had soon finished cleaning their pens. He waited until Dundee had finished eating before he took the stallion out of his pen and tacked him up. He always rode the stallion after he fed him because if he didn’t do it that way, the stallion would be antsy. He gave the stallion a quick brushing before tacking him up and leading him outside. He mounted up and rode around on his land for a few minutes. It was good to give the brindle equine a good workout a few times a week, Jason wanted him to be in tip top shape for when he went to his first event. A hour or two had passed and he walked the horse back into the barn after cooling him down. He had the horse tied at the wash rack as he was carrying his tack back to the tack room. He set his saddle back where it belonged along with Dundee’s saddle. He reached into his pocket as he heard his phone ringing, without looking at the caller ID, and answered. Hello? He went off to get Dundee, and stepped back a little as the horse neighed in his ear at the sound of his voice. He grabbed the horse’s lead and led him back to his stall, closing the door behind the stallion. He leaned against the stall door as he watched the stallion return to his hay.

She held the phone away as he answered and there was a shrilling whinny from one of the horses. That made her head ring, Jason its Alyssa im done and ready to go home, I want to get the hell away from here, she paused as some guy from across the street started staring at her and now there is some creeper staring at me across the street, the pain was begin to set in again and she groaned, I need to fill my pain meds she gasped at the sudden pain and dropped her phone to rub her knee, she muttered something along the lines of a swear word and picked it up, sorry I will just let you go she clicked it off. and began to gingerly rub the knee, she just wanted to be at home, sleeping and or with Jason he made everything better, she knew it was going to be a long hard night. She was not for sure if she was ready for it.

He slipped his phone back into his pocket after Alyssa hung up. Of course he would hurry and go pick her up. He closed the feed and tack room doors before turning Cal out to pasture and closing the barn doors as he left the barn. He quickly headed to his truck and got in and started it up. He thoughts raced for a few moments, making sure he had finished everything then he pulled out onto the roa,d clearly not wanting to keep Alyssa waiting. After a few long, enduring moments, he arrived at the hospital, he parked his truck near to where he had saw Alyssa and headed to where she was sitting. Hey, you alright? He asked as he finally stood in front of her. He guessed that she probably wasn't but he also figured that she was better off than what she was earlier, which was a relief.

She looked at him as he came up, I will be fine once the pain dies down which probably wont be until I have no clue and im feeling sleepy now. She yawned and shut her eyes for a moment before opening them and grabbing her crutches and standing, she took a slip out of her pant pocket and handed it to him, that’s the prescription I need filled. She now remembered how annoying this all was because people had to do things for her and she hated that. Alyssa sighed and began to crutch her way to his truck, how not fun. Now she knew Spook would go back to his old ways and she would have to start all over again. she reached his truck and waited for him to come.

He looked at the prescription for a few moments before slipping it into his pocket and hurrying after her towards his truck. He opened the door for her and helped her in I will get this filled for you, so no worries He said soonafter as he closed the door and then got in on the other side and got in Did the surgery go well? He asked as he started up the truck and started to drive away from the hospital

She smiled and then leaned her head against the truck window, yes the surgery was a big successes for the second time in my young life. She laughed and then yawned again closing her eyes, she did not fall asleep right away. She just stayed like that for awhile, listening to the truck go down the road and then eventually she fell asleep against the truck window and did not stir again.

He looked over and noticed that she had fallen asleep. He figured that he should get the prescription filled before he left town. He slowly drove down the road and parked his car and left for a few moments before returning with the prescription. At least he was able to get the prescription back in the same day. He got back into his truck and continued driving onto he had reached the country road again. He didn't want to wake her so he drove slowly down the road, and he knew it would take a bit longer to reach her house, but they would end up there eventually. He was glad when he finally reached her house.

She did not wake until the car stopped, she opened her eyes and went to stretch out her knee but stopped herself short, that would have been close. She looked over at him and, opened the door and managed to get herself out of the truck and on her crutches with out using or hitting her knee. She turned, are you going to come in? She asked softly before begin the walk to the door, reaching it she balanced and pushed the door open. Walking in she was greeted by Nala but the pup could tell something was wrong with her owner and so she carefully followed behind her until her owner laid down on the couch then she jumped up and curled up on her stomach, Alyssa began to pet Nala, her soft fur a comfort and welcome after the days events, she sighed softly and waited.

He got out of the truck and quickly headed for the house. He closed the door behind him. He then set the prescription down on the counter. Alyssa, I got your prescription filled He said as he walked over to where she had laid down on the couch. He was surprised she could get around so well, for having a hurt knee and then right after having surgery. Perhaps she was a superhuman or something. Is there anything else you want me to do? Have you fed your horses? He asked as he looked at the red puppy for a few moments. He wanted to help in any way he can, he had nothing else to do anyway.
