He smiled slightly again, he had gotten into a conversation and it was starting to get a bit strange, wait, maybe it was just him. He was used to having conversations, well at least with some people anyway. "Yeah, it would be nice to teach you the way of western riding" He smiled again when she mentioned his gelding "Well, his name is Frenchman's Conclusion" he hesitated for a moment as he tried to summarize everything about his gelding "Both of his grandsires have won just over 3 million. When he was younger he was the Reserve National Halter Champion" he stopped suddenly, and his face turned a very light shade of pink for he felt as if he was rambling again. He hated rambling, but he usually rambled when he got to in detail about something. He wiped his face with his hand as he tried to clear his head. What was he saying? "He was also a good cutting horse, but I could never bring myself to compete with him, so he just runs around my pasture and I know he probably wants to get some serious work done but I just won't let him" He smiled

Estelle was shocked. A guy with a horse, but who wouldn't compete? That was ridiculous. "What do you mean you could never bring yourself to compete with him?" She was shocked; she was so used to all of her friends with horses taking them to shows and rodeos every other weekend. And here he was, with a talented horse and no competitions?
Mostly she felt sorry for the horse. With such a successful bloodline he was probably very competitive. He probably hated being cooped up in a field all day with nothing to do. "Don't you think you should allow him to release his potential? Poor horse!" I mean, if your not going to compete yourself, why not let someone else do it, instead of wasting the animal? She thought in her head. She was being rude again. "Sorry, it's not my place to judge. It's your horse."

His smile faltered for a quick second and he managed to put a half smile back on his face. "I have not had the time to let him compete, I've just arrived in this town and he' seems to be content with the trail rides I take him on"He hesitated and continued "I think it's time for me to go, it was really nice talking to you" Estelle's words had hurt him a little he tried not to show it on his face but he failed. He looked at his phone again checking the time, it was about time he got home and checked on his horse again anyway. He shouldn't waste time at places such as these. He sighed again as he ran his hand through his bronze colored hair, his gray eyes watching the screen on his phone as he checked the time for one last time. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his truck keys

Estelle could tell she had hurt him - that's not what she wanted. It's just that, had she owned a horse, she would do as much as she could with it. She would make time to compete. "I'm sorry," she apologised, "Please, don't go. We were getting along just fine. You haven't even got that coffee yet."
She was anxious. She didn't know why. She shouldn't really have cared if he left or not, but here she was, not wanting him to. "Please, just stay for the coffee?" She hesitated, "Or at least let me come with you, if your going to the horse. I have nothing else better to do.." She didn't want to seem like she was trying to intrude, but she couldn't help but not wanting to say goodbye yet, not without knowing some more about Jason.

Jason quickly slipped his phone into his pocket, he really didn't want to stay here because he really wanted to get back home. He got up from the table his hand in his pocket, truck keys in one hand. In his mind, he figured that either way he would not be able to get rid of this stranger, and it kinda nagged him a bit, but he couldn't say that outloud, that would cause even more of a problem. He glanced to the establishment's entrance again, he almost looked like a helpless lost puppy. He slowly turned back to Estelle "I really have to go" he said simply and he knew he could not get away with saying just that. He mentally shrugged My day has been full of regrets, what could one more regret do? "However, I guess you could come and see my horse, if you really want to....I guess" I am such a idiot! I am going to regret this, I just want to disappear! His mind was literally screaming at him for what he had just said. All he wanted to do was go home and go to sleep but that didn't look like that happening anytime soon. Some day this turned out to be....

"Well," she replied, seeing his face. He obviously didn't want her to come along. She didn't want to spend a day being bored on her own again, though. This contact with another human was too good. "Only if you don't mind." She stood up and looked to the door. "Hey, you could give me a western lesson," she giggled suggestively. Frowning, she thought about how the last time she was on a horse was so long ago. She really wasn't interested in western, but if it meant getting to know Jason a bit better, that would be -
No. That was not why she was here. She was here to become established. She couldn't let her self become strayed from her goal. After all, she had a ten-year-plan. She would fix up the farm she had bid on, buy a few horses and make her money from breeding and selling. Maybe teaching a few people. That's her plan. She was not about to get involved with some 'cowboy'. No chance. She was way too determined for that.
Still, nothing could hurt by just going along for one day. "After you," she said, nodding toward the door.

Jason's mind was still screaming at him as he walked out the door. He just wanted to tell his mind to shut up, he could do whatever he wanted, no matter what the outcome would be. Is that a good thing? he thought to himself and then something hit him How old is this girl anyway? His mood had literally just turned sour after his realization but he wasn't going to question it. He continued walking until he found his red Dodge Ram truck, he stood there for a few moments just staring at his truck. Wait, is she going to ride with me? he wanted to slap himself for asking his conscious so many questions that he really did not want to know the answers to. He looked at the keys in his hand and the at the truck door. Ugh... He just stood there for a few moments becaue all of a sudden he just felt like...well like crap.

Estelle followed him to the truck, all the while a few steps behind. He hadn't replied about the riding, but he also hadn't said he didn't want her with him. He was sending off mixed signals and she didn't like it at all. She stared at the car, sleeping bag visible in the back seat, as they both walked past it. She shuddered at the thought that she had been sleeping in it for so long.
Getting into the car she put on her seat belt. When she knew he was just about to start the car and drive, she looked to him awkwardly. "Thank you," she whispered, "For spending time with me."
She smiled weakly and looked away.
