Tia walked into the office of Evergreen Ranch. She just moved here to Felicity a couple months ago and was now looking for a job. She was hoping that soon she would be able to get her own horse and be able to show in Eventing. Tia walked through the barn doors and could smell the sweet smell of horse and horse manure. To Tia there was no smell in the world that could beat it. She walked down the aisle. As she did she realized that there was only one horse in the stables. The horse came to the front of his stable holding and gave a quiet nicker. "Well hello there gorgeous." she said to the horse, not being able to stay long to chat.
Tia walked until she found the office. Hoping someone would be in she knocked on the door and then walked in. "Hello?"

Sitting there with her boots on her desk and leaning back was Andrea, a phone up to her ear and a frustrated look on her face. They'll be delivered when? She asked, pinching the bridge of her nose. It's been two days since the day she was supposed to have her three horses, and yet there were no sign of them. Champ was getting pretty bored with just Andy to play with. She looked up to see the lady walking in and waved to the chair in front of the desk before finally sitting back up. No, Fred, listen to me... A sugary sweet voice that was only used with someone when they really pissed her off came out, If I don't have my horses by tomorrow at 5 pm then someone won't be getting paid. Meaning you. She slammed the cell phone shut and jammed it in her purse before looking at the lady once more, this time with a smile. I'm sorry about that, I'm Andrea Cordero, owner of Evergreen Ranch. What can I do for you?

Tia walked in the room after the lady giving her a hand gesture to the seat infront of the desk. Talking on the phone Tia could tell that she wasn't too happy. Something about horses not being delivered on time or something of that matter. She watched as she slammed the cell phone shut and put it in her purse. I'm sorry about that, I'm Andrea Cordero, owner of Evergreen Ranch. What can I do for you? are the words that she spoked.
"Hi Ms. Cordero, my name is Tia. I just moved here to Felicity and I am looking for a job. I was wondering if by any chance you had any openings. I have worked with horses my whole life and have had lots of experience around them. I am willing to do whatever work is needed to be done." Tia said with a smile.

She nodded and listened, folding her hands on her desk. A picture of Champ was by the lamp and her laptop, closed was pushed off to the side. It seemed a little disorganized, however everything was in its place and Andy could find it if need be. She thought for a few seconds. There had yet to be anybody else here who wanted a job or even boarded here. Currently it was just one horse, one person, soon to be four horses, one person.
Well, as you can tell, there really is not much activity going on here. Currently, I just have Champ, but I am looking forward to a delivery tomorrow that holds two Paint mares and one Percheron colt.
Thinking about the little colt made her smile a little bit. He was a good ol' boy and was just around to be her pet, although she planned on training him to pull a buggy and maybe even to ride.
However, if things do start shooting upward, like I hope, I will need help. What would you like to do? By the way, call me Andy. She didn't want to put someone in a position that they really did not want. It could lower their job satisfaction, and in turn lower their performance on the job which could harm the horses.

Tia listened to the story about how there was only one boarder but Andy wash hoping to get another three horses tomorrow. "Well I am more then willing to do anything that you need. I love to work so anything you put me to work to do I will do it." Tia loved to work and would die if she couldn't. "I am up for challenges also. I think that just makes my experience expand." Tia said with a smile.
She looked down quickly and saw how the desk was a little disorganized. She laughed in her mind because if Tia was to have her own desk that is how it would be as well.

Andy nodded as she listened to her statements. Ugh, how much of these were like an actual interview, and how much she disliked them. It always left the interviewee guessing. Well, right now I can only give you the job as a stablehand with pay of 10 dollars an hour. If you have a horse or are planning on getting one in the future, the board is free. Also, if you need a place to stay temporarily, I can offer you one of the rooms in my house for free too. She stood up, waiting to hear if that was acceptable or not. If so, you can follow me and I'll introduce you to my baby, Champ. I want to see how you work with horses, just in case I've given you the wrong job. Don't worry, he really is a baby.

Tia was very happy when Andy told her that she could start as a stablehand at 10 dollars and hour. That was more then what she was expecting. Then she told her that boarding was free. Tia never thought about getting a horse but now it seemed like a good idea. Tia and Andy walked out to see her horse, Champ. She wanted to see how Tia would handle horses. "Ok, what would you like me to do? I have done lunging, free lunging, riding, I am up to anything." she said in a upbeat tone. She was really excited and could barely hide it at this point. She smiled so much that it was starting to hurt.

Andy walked to his stall where a black and white head peered out toward them. Grabbing the halter and lead. Lets see how you do with free lunging and then you can ride him if I see fit. He needs exercise anyway he is getting too fat. Grabbing the lead line and halter, she entered the stall, putting them on quickly. Champ did not really care, he was happy to be getting out. Following like a gentleman, they went toward the outdoor arena so he could get some sun. She grabbed the lunge line that was sitting out, showing that she was planning on doing it today anyway. This is Good Lookin' Champ, my baby. He is, as you can tell, a Paint and a sweetheart. He's my Western horse. If she saw that Tia was going well with Champ then she would go grab the tack and let her tack him up. Stopping at the entrance of the arena, she changed the lines and handed the lunge line to Tia. Each person has their own methods of doing things, I want to see yours. Going off toward the side, she looked over at Champ, making sure he didn't do anything stupid, though she knew he wouldn't.

Tia laughed at the remark that her horse was getting fat. She watched as Andy walked into her horse's stall and put on his halter and a led him out of his stall. She watched as Champ followed her like a great boy. He didn't fuss or anything while she was leading him to the outside arena. They got there and Andy put the lunge line on and took off his lead line and gave Tia the line. Tia nodded her head and walked into the arena. "Walk on" she told Champ. As he was walking she pointed the lunge whip to his head to make him go out. As he did she gave him a little more lead. She swished the whip a little to make him start walking a little faster. A couple times around Tia gave him a couple kisses and said "jog", since he was a western horse. At first Champ wouldn't change gait so she made some noise with the whip and then he started to jog. He didn't tug on the line or anything. She let him jog a little and then let him come back down to a walk. Once cooled off she got Champ back up to a jog and got him to lope. He pulled on the lead line a little but she kept control. After a few min she let him change gait back to a jog and then to a walk. "Woah" boy she sung to Champ. He stopped perfectly. Rolling up the line on her arm she walked towards Champ and scratched under his forelock. "Good boy." she said and gave him a kiss on the nose.

Andy leaned against the fence, watching as she worked with Champ. Champ wasn't a problem horse, he would do pretty much anything and he needed to be worked. At some point she would get out on the trails with him, but she had no idea when that would actually be. He needed a good workout and they needed to get back into their partnership again. Turning away, she strode back to the barn, blond hair bouncing up and down as she went to the tack room. She grabbed his saddle and hackamore. He was a good boy and was even better under the hackamore. If Andy didn't have to use a bit, she wouldn't. It was just so much easier because there was less fighting, but Tia would have to watch pulling on this thing too much otherwise he would throw a fit. Throwing the hackamore on top of the saddle, she hoisted it up and walked outside. It wasn't the lightest thing in the world, but her show saddle was even heavier. As she reached the fence, she tossed the saddle up on the white-washed fence. She didn't say anything, just waited to see what Tia would do.

Tia watched as Andy walked into the barn. Not sure what she was going for Tia took the lead line and walked Champ around the arena a little more. Then doing a trot she could feel his movements. They were extremely smooth. She went back down to a walk and then saw Andy coming back out with a western saddle and a hackamore. Tia didn't have much experience with a hackamore but she had rode with one a few times. Not her favorite thing to use because she didn't feel like she had complete control of the horse but she would do it anyways. Tia patted Champ on the neck and walked him over to Andy. He gave her a little nicker which made Tia laughed. "How was that?" she asked.

Andy scratched Champ's neck as Tia walked him over. Yes she would rather be the one working him, but it was better that she was doing it to get a sense of how she was around another horse. That was really good. Now it's time to see you ride. I nodded toward the tack. If you need me to I can hold him, although he ground ties splendidly. That was something she always taught her brats whenever possible because it made life so much easier for both. Don't worry, he's a good boy, a gentle baby. Champ stood there patiently before stomping a hoof, unknown of what was going on. All he knew was that he wanted to do something right now. Not later. Now.

Tia nodded her head. "You can hold him if you want just incase." she smiled and went onto putting the tack on. She got the saddle pad and placed it on Champ. She then and got the saddle. Before putting the saddle on Tia put the back cinch, front cinch, stirrups and breast collar on top of the saddle so that it wouldn't get in the way. She lifted it and placed it gently on Champ. He was doing an amazing job so far. After getting the saddle on Tia got everything in place and got the stirrups at the right spots. Grabbing a helmet that was left in the arena she put it on like she always does. After she got the wickamore on she brought Champ to the mounting block and mounted. "What would you like me to do?" she asked Andy
