Ange de Amour. The dusty gold plate beneath the stallion's stall window had his French named carved elegantly into it's fine metal. The gold in the letters had worn away to reveal the black iron beneath it and was starting to fringe around the letter edges. The wood around his stall was slightly chewed from his earlier years and his chin rested on the sill.
His black chin ended at his lower lip and was abruptly blurred to a light gray. His forelocks hung loosely in front of his eyes and he waved his head about, up, down, up, down. He let out a piercing whinny that echoed through the lonesome stallion barn. He'd been the only stallion here for quite some time and the mares generally ignored him if he was out in the pastures. He'd nickered quietly as humans walked past but he only ever was interacted with to be fed, let out to pasture, given a quick grooming and other essentials.

I walked into the stallion barn going to take care of Spirit my spunky horse who could be crazy sometimes. I herd a whicker and turned to see a stallion I had never seen in my life, walking up to his stall I stroked his cheek, were did you come from handsome boy? I scratched the top of his nose before putting his halter on, I was going to take it personally upon myself to see this horse was trained by me and was given every thing he could want. He seemed fairly young so I assumed he had a few years training on him, I gave him a quick brush and then clipped the lunge line on him, I quickly grabbed a lunge whip and led him out to the outdoor arena, alright lets see what you can do, I clucked and asked him to walk I was not going to use the whip unless he did not know what I was asking him to do. I waited for him to make up his mind, patient was a good thing to have.

The stag followed this human's wishes as they lead him to the outdoor arena. As they walked he perked his ears at nearly everything and looked around but was sure to keep pace with his lead. He was feeling rather pretty after the grooming this new human had given him and was happy he'd have a chance to show off.
Once he'd been set free and was a safe distance from the human he kicked up his heels in happy freedom and took up a brisk walk on his slender pillars. His dome bobbed in rhythm to his step and his ears were turning every which way. He kept his head on the bit as best he could. This was the biggest thing that had been drilled into him in what little training he'd had before the old man who trained him had died. Hep laced his neck in a graceful arch and picked his feet up in a half-prance walk. Ange eyed the whip with suspicion and lashed his tail a few times before settling down.

I laughed as he kicked out his heels and began at a brisk walk, I watched as he arched his neck and gave a half walk half prance kind of a gait, are you all settled now? I asked him, I tapped the ground near his hoofs telling him I wanted him to slow down to a normal walk, I waited and watched him, it now clearly came to me that he had a little training and if I lunged him everyday and worked with him he would make a nice riding mount he just needed a little more time to get use to things, seeing I did not feeling like riding a spooky horse whom would not be able to be shown, you are a very nice horse you would make a nice English horse but we will have to work are way up to riding right ground manners and lunge line manners are needed. I smiled and waited for him to give me what I wanted, if this training lesson went good he would not only get a nice bath and grooming but he would get a treat or two.

[OOC: I'm just making sure but this is a female lunging him correct?]
He snorted, as if to say 'fine, have it your way', and settled into a slower walk. He stayed on the bit and turned his attention to the human. He flicked his ears at the whip but otherwise remained quiet and kept his legs at a steady pace, moving his frame about the area in a circle around the other being. He watched as the line bounced slightly as his head bobbed and flicked his head, entertaining himself for a moment with the rope's movements. He kept his senses at the reay to detect his next command and he certainly couldn't wait until he cantered. At least he hoped he could canter. He really liked to go.

(OOC: yep this is a female lunging him)
I was pleased with his progress and I asked him to canter, I could tell he wanted to go he did not want to stay at a slow pace any more, I quietly waited for him to give I noted that he always stayed on the bit and made his circles perfect. He bobbed his head as if entertaining himself, I shook my head and just smiled he seemed like a playful energetic horse who just wanted to go and have fun. After you give me a good few laps at the canter we will go on a walk along one of the trails and then I will give you a bath and a good grooming along with a few treats. I smiled as I asked him again this time tapping the ground and kissing to him, I wanted to see if he had as nice of a canter as he did walk and if he kept his elegance in his transition to his canter.

At the word treat he took a step toward her before remembering he was working and quickly stepped back into place. He took a couple trotting steps before sliding into a canter. He slipped but regained his balance and cantered on. His tail flowed gently behind him and his mane danced as he moved. He threw his head up and let out a whinny of excitement and picked up speed. He remained collected but was going as fast as he could without falling over. He certainly wanted to empress this female, he wanted that treat. He was going it about it wrong, however, showing off his speed instead of his elegance.

I shook my head and tapped his rump, slow down or your going to hurt yourself. I sighed and slowed him to a stop deciding that was enough for today he would still get his treat, dropping the whip I walked near him and offered him his treat, he took it and I led him out dropping off the whip and clipping a short led on his halter before taking him down the driveway and out on a trial. I wondered how he was going to act out on the trail I was not for sure he had ever been on one or if he had only been trained in an arena and never got any training out doors, I sighed and stroked her neck, before pulling out another treat and offering it to him for being good thus far.

He pricked his ears forward and eagerly took the treat, munching on it as he followed her toward the trail. He raised his head and pranced a bit but did nothing else. He continued following her, staying on the trail but reaching his head into everything to sniff at it. He pulled his head from a bundle of leaves and nudged her pocket gently, in search of more treats. The flies out here seemed even more pesky, however, and his tail was thrashing at his flanks a few swings at a time. He stopped and lowered his head to sniff at a root before th lead line pulled and he stepped over it.

I smiled you are such an amazing horse but how did you just magically appear at my farm? I questioned I guess it would be a question I would never know, I let him sniff everything and then turned around and head back to the barn, taking him to the wash racks were I sprayed him down lathered him up and scrapped the water off which was quite dirty, I dried him nice and well before, grooming him and braiding his long mane, forelock and tail to keep it out of the way, there that has to feel so much better. I smiled and looked at the handsome stallion, I gave him another treat wondering if he would like to burn off some more of his energy, I decided to put a light turnout on him before leading him to the pasture and setting him free, I sat on the fence post and watched him deciding on when I was going to tell Pablo.

He nickered and a proud glint entered his eyes. He felt amazing. He took the treat and munched it down to where he could swallow it and nudged her hand. He walked with a new spring in his step to the pasture and as soon as he was set free he bolted off. His newly braided mane and tail flew behind him as he raced around as fast as his feet could possibly take him. He held his head high and let out a shrieking whinny. He threw his heels up every now and then but other wise kept up his race with an imaginary stag.

I watched the stallion, his movements were fluid and beautiful, he himself was a horse of a different caliber, I hopped off the fence and walked into the barn hanging his halter back up taking a glance at his stall and catching his name it was something french but he had a barn name Angel that was weird for a stallion but it would due. I ran my hand through my hair and took Spirit out leading him into his pasture figuring he could have a little fun, his wound was healing nicely and there was no risk of it re oping or anything right now, I tapped his rump well go ahead what are you waiting for. He shoot off like a rocket going to explore the new stallion racing next to him his golden hide catching the suns rays as he pushed himself faster and faster. I sat back on the fence watching the two of them.

(OOC: Just in case you didn't know or were curious his name means Angel of Love in French, so his barn name in Angel.)
At the quick approach of a new male he pinned his ears flat against his head. He bared his teeth and snorted. He made his movements more jerky and hostile but as the male began racing and it became clear there was no harm involved he lowered his head slightly and let his motions flow once more. He loved the feeling of the earth beneath his hooves, the heat radiating off of his competitor and the feeling of dirt clumps hitting against his stomach as his hooves dug them up. What's your name? He called over the thunder of their hooves and the wind whistling in his ears. His golden racer was matching his pace rather easily, considering a small trace of a wound he could just barely see.

Watching the two horse I noted Angels movements became hostile but soon quickly changed to more friendly and he was racing along side Spirit I felt quite satisfied that these two were well on there way to becoming friends, deciding they would be fine I made my way back up to the office to do some stuff. He snorted as movements changed but soon became friendly again, he let a happy whicker go as his leg was not slowing him down any more, the stallion asked for his name so he slowed to a walk and then stopped tossing his head, my name is Spirit what about you? He question kicking up his heels and throwing a little rear in there as he waited.

My name is Ange de Amour, his deep, velvet voice flowed from his lips. His slender pillars stood elegantly under his bodice, in a square halt. His long tail, newly braided was a rainbow of slate, white and flaxen, as was his braided mane. His black eyes held an air of vanity and his head was held high in response. He looked over this stag, he seemed to have a lot of energy and was extremely happy about something: what he did not know. He snorted as he gasped silently for breath, his side heaving in and out and his coat was darker in some areas, coated with sweat of their fantastic run.
