Silver eyes pierced this little coffee place. I usually never left my little haven at Evergreen Ranch, but today I needed a little pick-me-up. But this person was being too long. I did not want to start tapping my foot, but I might. How long does it take to get something together for the customer two people in front of me? I rolled my eyes before starting to mess with my ponytail. I needed to get back. There was so much to do and only so many hours in the day. Here were people though, lounging around, lazing as if there was not a care in the world. But yes, yes there was. Horses and animals abound that need so much attention. A frustrated sigh left me as I looked ahead. Finally, they were gone. Only one more to go.
My ranch was not built up too highly yet, but soon I hoped it would be. Currently I just had my baby Champ. Tomorrow, though, two mares and a colt were supposed to be joining the ranks. They were all coming from different parts of the country, and I could not wait to see them. The two mares were Paints, aged four and five. The little colt, on the other hand, was a Percheron. He was a cutie, and I just fell in love with him. I could not leave him where he was. I came back to where I was and finally my boots clicking on the ceramic tile announced my arrival to the counter. Uh oh, a whiff of something caught my attention. A cinnamon roll and goosebumps starting appearing. Oh I wanted it. Finally, the cashier talked to me. Medium coffee, black, and oh what the hell, a cinnamon roll. Slow moving, that's what he was doing. I leaned against the counter, messing with the change on the pristine counter as he took forever again.
