I let the silence grow between us as the horses kept jogging toward the lake. Finally, we made it. The water was sparkling under the sun that glowed orange-yellow against the bright blue sky. The springtime weather was growing more toward the summer, which was making it so warm. Paths of hooves showed that many came around here, but it seemed like didn't stay long. The horse ties had not been used in a while, probably since fall. The grass was already perked up, a beautiful green. And under the shade of a tree that was almost completely done growing its' leaves was a red and white checkered tarp kind of thing with a picnic basket atop it, closed to the extent where no bugs would be able to climb in. Next to the basket was a small vase with just a single red rose in it, filled with water halfway. Yes it maybe was cheesy, and I started looking a little sheepish. I had never done with before, but it just came to me and I decided to put thought to action. I stopped at the horse ties, dismounting and clipping Sweets to one. Just for now so I wouldn't have to deal with anything. I waited for Sammie, hoping this was a good surprise rather than a bad one.

As we reached the lake I slowed Spirit, we had not talked a lot on the way here which was fine with me it was enjoyable just to be in each others company, I looked around and then looked at him as he looked a little sheepish, I smiled and looked over noting the rose and picnic basket, it was all very sweet, I dismounted Spirit and tied him up and walked over to Pablo looking at everything, this is so sweet no one has ever done this for me before. I turned to face him and wrapped my arms around his neck giving him a hug, this would be a wonderful day and something I would remember for as long as I lived. I kissed his cheek and then looked at him, I took both his hands in mine and swung them back and forth Spirit was looking at me but then turned giving me his rump, is it possible for a horse to get jealous? I questioned laughing before walking over to the tree and everything all I could think was he really did not have to do this but it was so sweet.

Well you know I like to go all out. I stated, hugging her back before letting her go. I turned toward Spirit and rolled my eyes. I guess so. Sweets didn't care she just started grazing as if it was nothing. She was just happy to be out. I followed her to the tree before sitting across from her under the shade. I opened the picnic basket and pulled out almost everything besides the dessert. I didn't care what American traditions were when it came to eating dessert first, I didn't believe in it. Dessert was the best part, and should be kept as such. I didn't know what you would want to eat, so I brought a few different things of everything. I pulled out a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a ham and cheese sandwich, and a turkey and cheese sandwich. For the chips I brought plain, sour cream and onion, and the great Doritos. The salad I brought potato and macaroni. I pulled out a few condiments, well just mayonnaise and mustard. I would let her dress up her own salad. Sorry it's not 'fancy'. I stated, but it was a picnic it wasn't supposed to be. Make your choice.

As we sat down to enjoy the day, I felt my phone going off and when I did not answer they called again and yet again, I pulled my phone out and saw it was my sister, I smiled to Pablo, I have to take this be right back. I stood and walked off down to the lake, I answered, hello what’s so urgent that you keep calling me? I listened as she spoke, I was in shock of what I herd, well I don’t know what to tell you and you told your boyfriend and he said he could not be brought down with this burden, im sorry to hear that why don’t you come here for a couple days clear your head and we can talk about it some more but I have to go for now call me tonight and let me know. I hung up and walked back to Pablo, sitting down I shook my head, we are going to have a visitor for a couple days. I left it at that deciding he could ask questions if he wanted to I did not feel like talking about it really. I gave him a smile and watched as he pulled stuff out of the basket, I took the pbj sandwich and some plan chips, who said it had to be fancy? I bit into my sandwich and looked at him, I like everything the way it is. I smiled again and bit into my sandwich waiting.
