She walked into the land. She could scent no other horses here. A stream ran through the middle of the land. Lots of flowing grass swayed before her. She looked back and could see Nox following her. She burst forward into a gallop and bucked a couple times. She raced around the area letting her feelings burst out of her. She was happy. Though she was cautious of getting to close to nox, she was glad she had somebody. She was a filly after all, and fillies liked to play. She stopped in the middle and reared on her small hind legs. Come on Nox! She said with a singing tone.

Daggers beat down upon the meadow, and I could see the trees far away for shelter. It seemed like a normal land, but it was home. I watched as the little flicka took off, and I made sure to keep an eye on her. I followed at a slow trot, knowing that I could catch up quickly if I wanted to. At the sound of my name I took off, feathers bouncing around my earthen toned hooves, night-colored tendrils bouncing against my skin as I swiftly caught up before passing her up. You gotta be faster than that! I said with a laugh, slowing down to a canter to give her time to catch up.
This land is claimed!
Name: Deedee's Meadow Description: The sound of the stream can be heard pleasantly when one enters the meadows of browns and greens of the weeds and grasses a-plenty. The horizon is marked by many trees to give protection during the bad weather, although the ground is always damp and hardly any sun reaches it. The meadow is named after its founder, Delicacy Dream, followed by Nox. The summers are extremely hot, and sometimes the creek becomes dry, along with all the sustenance around, making it almost uninhabitable. The winters can be bitterly cold too. All the other times it is wonderful to live here.

DeeDee snorted as Nox flew by her. You gotta be faster than that! He yelled, slowing down so she could catch up. She burst forward trying to race past him but his strong legs always stayed a step ahead of her legs that were going as fast as she could make them. Finally she slid to a stop at the stream and dunked her muzzle in letting the cool water flow into her mouth and down her throat. She lifted her head and jumped into the stream the water splashing on her legs and stomach. She snorted and let a shrilling whinny escape her jaw. She flung her head around. Then she kicked her hoof, splashing water towards Nox.

I slowed to a trot, letting her pass me up. I would follow her right now, not the other way around. I did not want to be in charge of a territory because it meant that I would have others follow me. I stopped close by, watching her playing in the water, which sent me back down memory lane when I was a little foal and I used to love the water. No I used to love my friend Fishy, and then he swam away from me. But I got to meet Serenade that way, and she was my fast friend. I liked visiting her. Ah but that was a different land, different time. A splash of water slapped me and it took me back to the present. I looked over and noticed Deedee in the water. Walking over I stated, You're going to pay for that. Putting my muzzle in the water I splashed toward her before jumping in, making sure to land with enough force to send water at her.

Before she knew it, DeeDee was splashed with a huge wave of water. It poured down over her, soaking her body. She sputtered and laughed. I think.. you win! She snorted, dragging herself out of the stream and shaking her coat off. She laid down and rolled around on the grass before getting back up and throwing her head around a little. That was fun. She said, the energy in her earlier run arounds drained out of her body. She laid down in the sun and shut her eyes.

I stood by, letting the sun run down on her but making sure that no one else decided to come after us. I stood stock still, looking down at DeeDee before looking around again. Surveying the land that was now ours. There was no scent of a fresh horse upon the grounds except ours, but the history of the land was definitely here. It was in every breeze that pushed by. In ever leaf that shook. It was in...everything. The bark of the trees held the scent from the other equines, mares, stallions all alike, from rubbing against it to get that particular itch. The ground held the whispers of the hoofprints that were taken away from the land with the weather that passed by every season. Now, here we were. We were here to leave our mark, maybe leave something...historic. But I could not count on that. Right now, I needed to just do what I had to do.

She slept. Her dreams were filled with the... memories again. They had came back, those nightmares. She broke out into a sweat and then jumped onto her feet, gasping. She was wide awake now and she was staring at Nox who was now looking at her. She sighed and breathed in deep cooling her body back down. i'm okay. she thought. Just a bad.. dream. she said outloud.
