Chirping. Twirling. Singing. Dancing. However one put it, the birds were doing it. The sun was not even at the highest point in the sky, just rising above the horizon, and there was already a flurry of activity coming from the winged creatures. The trees, in turn, were already swaying with a heavy breeze billowing through their branches, creating a silent symphony that could only be heard by the ghosts that walked the Earth. The sun was a vibrant orange, and opposite was a fading moon into oblivion, until its return again on its next shift. The grasses underneath the traveler’s earthen-toned daggers were a lush green, screaming of the nutrients that were under the skin. The blue roan glanced up, nostrils flared, peaks twirling, listening.
The journey was fun, but long. It was also taxing on the mustang’s body. Weariness was etched in the lines of her muscles, but she would not let it show. Her pools showed the strength that she lived on. Her coat was covered in dust and did not show the shine that it did when she was just a babe. A sigh was emitted from her maw, and lids closed across her eyes halfway. Just a few seconds was all she needed for to become awake. Her mind shut down for a second, her body relaxing for just a split second before she opened her eyes, taking in the scene with a new mind, more cautious than the other. Although she was still exhausted, she was enthralled with the new land. A scent lay against the land that was newer than the others, and spoke of a present owner and ruler. Muscles bunched together, and she felt the pain of the exhaustion worn down to the center from constant travel. As she walked closer to the land, her mood shifted slowly toward exhaustion to…well let’s put it as irritation. She did not know why, but it was like a constant itch, a fight, a sarcastic word, it was at the back of her throat, ready to be spit out at someone. It may because the only thing she had seen in forever were savages that only were near for her skin, no other reason .Civilization was too far away, and she had yet to use her voice for anything but talking to herself for company.
Company. Ha! One could not trust company anyway. Sometimes they turned around and left as if their best friend were nothing but a used toy that was now more bothersome than fun. Her jaws clenched at the thought of him. And the herd whore that took him away. Azure had a few words for that bitch. And a few kicks and nips and maybe, just maybe, her target would be the jugular. That would end her life. Stop it. She mumbled to herself, the blue roan rolling her eyes. It was done and over with. Brutes were brutes and faes were queens, that was how it always was and would always be. Except for those that stumbled down to that level. Again?! She shook her head. Eyes closed and her body instantly relaxed with the darkness, her lids wishing to remain down as the tension was released. A few steps were taken blindly as all of a sudden her hoof sunk and she stepped back into alarm? When did this appear? She took a tentative step and she felt her body shift farther down than she was prepared for. But nothing else happened. It was almost…anticlimactic. The breeze was bittersweet with a different aroma than before. She knew not how she made it here, only that somehow she had. Her skin instantly soaked in the warmth of the sun and her tiara lifted toward the sky, her bod relaxing as she breathed deeply, walking toward the shore line, water splashing up against her leg before being taken by the tide. She walked in farther, her tail trailing along in the water as she dipped her maw toward the liquid, although this was not what she wanted yet. Her forelock dipped in front of one eye and she shook it away as she just stood there, feeling the tears of the many who lived and passed and were now far above her swish around her knees. This felt more like home than anywhere else. But, she reminded herself, it was someone else’s home, and she needed to only stay a few more moments and dwell in the spa treatment before parting with heaven and going to live in Hell again. Give applause to what I can't control Then somehow laugh at how The moon divides an ocean solo I wanna be that ocean I wanna shine like that
Zarian had already explored the entirety of his new home land, scenting the border lands and letting every creature in the vicinity know that he was now the ruler of this domain. All that time had just been about assuring himself that the land was now his, but he hadn’t given himself the time to simply enjoy. For three years he’d been a rouge, out taking on the world on his own. Though now that he had claimed himself a territory he was able to think about himself, to think more then what was going to happen tomorrow. He was able to think about a long term future. So as his large frame walked slowly threw the eastern part of his territory he pondered what he wanted to do in long term commitment. Zarian was in the prime of his life, still young, strong and vibrant but old enough to have expearianced life. He could easily protect this land, or anything that belonged to him for that matter. He was not only dominant but also protective. Fighting for the things that he cared about with his body, heart and soul.
A few kilometers back the dence forest had started to thin, the evergreen tree’s becoming younger. If the saplings had not been a good hint then the fact that there was now sand under hoof was. Zarian was now approaching a whole different terrain in his territory, when he had first viewed the landscape he had been surprised to see it. The main of his territory consisted of lush grass and dence forest, but Nadia Shores as he’d dubbed it, was a beach land escape. He pawsed, in the shade of a short palm tree, closed his eyes and took in a deep drag of salty air. It was refreshing and invigorating, the tang of… What was that?
The spicy aroma that threaded threw the salty air did not belong to that of the ocean. Zarians dark eyes opened while his nostrils flaired. Well, well, well. A small smile tilted the lips of his grey maw. It seemed as though for the foreseeable future he’d be entertained. His eyes shot up and down the prestine beach, taking in the white sand and clear blue waves. How Zarian had not senced the mare before now was inconseavable, she stood only a few meters from him. The blue roan mare was wadded a few feet out into the serf, enjoying his claimed domain. With an arch in his neck that posed him regaly Zarian stepped out of the shade and into the warming sun. He didn’t make his way quietly, no, instead he let out a short but strong call, letting the mare know she was in his territory.
It didn’t take long for his long legged gate to eat up the ground between them. When his grey and black stripped hooves sank into cooled sand he stopped. The wind from the sea played with his long dark mane and tail, blowing it behind him. Now he only stood a few feet from the mare, from this distance he could make out the mares two toned coat with its mixing of blue roan. Zarian towered well above her, and when he spoke, it was filled with his heritage accent.

The breeze took her away, down memory lane. Where foals frolicked, mares huddled together in a social chat, and stallions tried to climb above each other in height. She, on the other hand, hung out around the colts. A couple scars, one on her neck and her shoulder, showed of the little fights that she had gotten into. Many she won, many she lost. Only two gave her scars, and she was proud of them. Unlike the prissy fillies who wanted nothing to do with the colts, she was right there in the midst of it all. Later she found out when fillies turned to mares they wanted to do A LOT with the now-mature brutes. A change of heart, really. For her, colts will be colts. There were no stallions in that bunch.
But then there was Jaws. The one who left the mark on her shoulder. Branding her his best friend for what was life. Her throat closed at the thought. For life. That was something to laugh at now. There was no such thing as a life promise. They always got broken. This time it was by a home wrecker. Before that thing, they enjoyed their time together immensely. She was being childish, she knew that. She took a deep breath, letting the oxygen fill her lungs and filter out as she calmed herself down.
The sun beat down upon her hide and the warmth it gave in comparison to the cool water was the perfect blend. What could possibly ruin such a moment? Oh, that. An aroma was caught on the breeze and she instantly stiffened before relaxing. At the moment there was no reason to end her spa treatment. Azure looked at the distant horizon, where blue melded with blue and there seemed to be no end. Tiara bent to the water as her maw skimmed over it before bringing it back up. The scent was closer, but she did not turn around. She would not ruin this dream she had walked into.
A scream broke the silence, more like a caution or a warning. He was there. The aroma was all around her now, and she knew he was close. An explanation? Really, that was all she needed? I heard there was pleasant company to be found here. Guess my source was wrong. She let the words float back to him on the breeze. Her remark was in jest, and the small smile upon her maw was proof of that as she turned around to face whomever was behind her. The first thing she noticed was how gigantic he really was compared to her, well now, meager size. But she did not quiver in fear, did not try to find the shadows that could scoop her up and carry her away. She stood there as the tide came and went, each time pulling her tendrils in each direction. I wandered on these lands mainly by accident, or fate, whichever you believe in. I was just leaving, unless you wish for some companionship for the time being? She let her question sit in the air as she slowly moved her way out of the water, making little splashes as she went before making it to the sand and feeling the now-familiar sinking feeling that made her feel even shorter. Oh, and “little” is definitely not one word that I would use to describe myself. She turned, orbs peering at him inquisitively, awaiting an answer to her question. She scanned this mysterious stranger that, just by the look of him and his position, held the power here.
