The stallion’s ear flicked as he heard the soft breathing of the bay equine, he guessed that the mare had fallen asleep. He flicked his tail across his flanks and figured that he should not disturb the mare’s sleep. Instead, he let his gaze wander around the landscape that surrounded him as he cocked a hoof. He knew that they had nothing to worry about, for now. Someday an intruder would probably come into his territory demanding a fight, but Crusader was raised well by his father, and he was easily capable of defending his land from another beast. Nothing bothered the stallion, and nothing ever would, not in this life time. His ear flicked again as he soon drifted off to sleep once realizing that there were no dangers whatsoever.

She jumped, opening her eyes she stepped back and shook her crown. It was morning now, she quietly walked away from his sleeping frame and lowered her crown to the water sipping lightly at the creek, she backed and began to graze becoming quite hungry. Aphrodite greedily ate at the grass, occasionally picking a fore dagger up and bumping her belly. Then setting it down, she snorted and raised her crown. Harks flickered as she caught the morning sounds, tresses hung limply down from her nape, banner flicking idly as she grazed contently. Aphrodite became excited when she saw a butterfly, like a young filly she trotted eagerly after it, she squealed when it touched her hark and then landed upon her nose, she turned and trotted back to Crusader, letting the butterfly crawl onto his nose and rest upon it, the butterflies wings were still wet and you could tell it was happy to have a place to rest, she sighed and propped a hoof waiting.

Filling something crawling upon his muzzle, the ivory stallion opened his eyes and noticed the insect crawling upon his nose. He looked at it for a few moments but soon enough it started to tickle his face and he snorted involuntary. He raised his head and watched as the butterfly fluttered near them. He tilted his head and turned his gaze to Aphrodite but flicked an ear as he notice the butterfly land upon his back. He snorted again Seems to take a liking to me He said soon after as he swung his head around to get one last look at the butterfly before turning back to Aphrodite. He glanced at her belly than he looked back at her Did you sleep well my dear?

She laughed, yes it has but I think it just started its life as a butterfly its wings are still not quite there yet. She turned to nip at her belly and then turned back to him, I slept wonderful and you? she questioned softly, she shifted and propped a different hoof. She snorted and lowered her crown to the grasses below her hoofs and began to nibble on them, a soft content sigh emitted from her kissers. She raised her crown chewing on a mouthful of grass, she swallowed and then tilted her crown and looked at him. She stepped near him and touched his cheek and then turned just in time to see the butterfly flutter away finally having enough strength, she nibbled on his nape softly. Before pulling away, so what do you want to do today? She began to nibble on his nape again and waited.

He watched as the butterfly flew away I've had a good sleep. He nuzzled her shoulder soon after I believe I may go and scout the land He added a few moments afterwards. He still wanted to make sure everything was safe. He flicked an ear as he let his gaze fall upon the cluster of trees in the distance before looking back to Aphrodite again. He would have to go and find new members for his herd, but he didn't find it necessary at the moment. He hoped that equines would come to his land on his own, he was offering a home to wandering equine, but he definately not offering a fight, if an equine came looking for a fight, he would make sure that they got off his land, and never came back.

That’s good to hear, she spoke softly against his nape. Well wail you are scouting I think I will just meander threw the lands, explore and such. She smiled and touched his shoulder nuzzling it, before she turned and moved off. trotting in its own was becoming something of a work out so she just walked, she was enjoying looking at all the plants and other creatures that lived among them, things horses never really stopped to look at but she did occasionally. She stopped to watch some birds perched in a tree, they were doing the oddest things, she propped a hoof and tilted her crown. One would peck one and it just continued on to the last bird and then the last bird started it all over again, she tilted her crown the other way and then continued to watch.

Crusader cantered off towards the boundary lines of his land. He lowered his head until his muzzle was touching the ground almost, his forelock fell over his eyes as he took a step forward, still sniffing the ground. He raised his head, narrowing his eyes slowly. He could tell that other stallions had claimed lands somewhere off in the distance. He flicked his ear and bared his teeth slightly, it would only make things harder around here. Hopefully they wouldn't come and bother him but you never know. He only had one mare, he would protect her with his life but he was still wary of the other stallions. He doubted they would come and intrude onto his land but there were crazed bachelors and wandering stallions to think about. He threw up his head abruptly then he shook his head throwing his mane this way and that. He was strong enough to defend his lands, so there shouldn't be a problem. He trotted down the boundary line, trying to catch any foreign scents. But the only scents he picked up where his own, and a few of the harmless woodland creatures. He continued trotting, his gait was majestic in a ways, it showed off his slight arrogance to his nature. He skidded to a halt and reared up onto his hindlegs and called out in a booming neigh, announcing that this was his home, and if anyone tried to take it, they would surely regret attempting to do so. He placed his hooves back on the ground and galloped off towards his special place, the shady forest that he held so dear. The shadows always seemd to welcome him in as he wandered through the dense woodland.

So these birds were now trying to push each other off the branch or she figured more to the outside seeing that always seemed to be an easier target then the birds on the inside. She had never seen such a full out battle like this, the birds on the outside were pushing back on the ones on the inside, the ones in the middle were just being squished and the one in the very middle end up being squished so much that it end up squeaking and then shooting up, it was trying to find its wings but having difficulties and coming back down to earth quite fast, so she moved to catch it on her nose until it found its wings, mean while the battle raged on above and to prevent them from killing each other, she reared and made them all fly away, the squabbling and squawking had stopped for the time being and she could finally un pin her harks that she had not realized were pinned in the first place. She sighed, finally she could hear and there was peace and quiet, she let a pent up snort and breath go and she relaxed again. Propping a hoof and just waiting for it to start all over again.

C R U S A D E R Trying to reach my ultimatum, Life keeps pulling me down Charging forth with all of my might, Have I once lost the fight? The overgrown ferns brushed against his muscular frame. A sigh escaped his maw as an eagle took flight above his head. His ear flicked as he continued walking slowly through the wood of shadows. Patches of light shown through the treetops as caused his coat to turn a pale shade of silver. He stopped and pawed the earth for a few moments, the only scent he smelled here was his own, for he was usually the only equine inhabiting the wood. His blue gaze shifted observing the dark bark on the trees. His ears flicked once more as he noticed he had dug a small hole upon the forest floor. He lowered his head and used his nose to push the dirt back into the hole. He threw up his head and shook it side to side, clearing the dirt from his rosey pink nostrils. He nickered again, in a quiet, low tone before cocking a hoof and listening to the sounds in the woodlands. This was his home. A haven. He would guard it as long as he lived.

She had not realized she had dozed off until she opened her orbs. It was afternoon now, she twitched her pelt, it felt like there was something upon her back. She shifted her weight so she was standing right, her barrel was large but not to bad she turned and saw not one not even two but six birds upon her back. She shook her crown and began to walk thinking they would fly away but they did not. She decided she would go find them a better and bigger tree to perch on. With a sigh she went into the woods and began to look around, the farther she walked the more shadows there were, she was not paying attention until the birds started squawking like they were going to die then she realized she was going to run right into Crusader, she stopped harks pinned. She lowered her crown and propped a hoof, please make these birds go away. She did not want them on her any more, she was annoyed with them She shook her frame but they did not leave, the foal with in her barrel was kicking and she just wanted to relax. She whickered softly and pinned her harks even more, she allowed her front pillars to lower then her hind and the jarring feeling of when she hit the ground sent the birds flying and into a tree, she sighed and un pinned her harks. She laid out on her side and closed her she was going to rest and sleep if it killed her to do such a thing.

His gaze flickered to the birds that were standing upon her back. He flicked an ear as he heard her words then flicked it again as he watched the mare lay down on her side. He lowered his head to to touch the bay equine's cheek before raising his head again and looking around. He cocked a hoof as he stood over the mare, keeping watch. He could hear the sounds of crickets in the brush, they made it seem as if the woodland was even quieter than it was a few moments before. He flicked his tail across his ivory flanks as he looked off into the distance.

She awoke and stood shaking her frame off, she had a thin layer of sweat on her frame but she thought nothing of it, she decided to go explore some more. She nuzzled him and then set off. Aphrodite was at the stream when she really noted something was not right at all, shortly after that her water broke. She snorted and sniffed around looking for a spot as pain set in, circling she lowered her frame and laid flat out. She called out to Crusader, she wanted him here but the foal was not going to wait for ever. Shifting she began to push, another call leaving her. She grunted and felt the foal moving threw, its front legs then its chest and head, but it never was easy. More pushing and the foal was out along with other things, Aphrodite took a moment to rest and then she raised her crown to look at the foal by her rump. She stood and turned, begin to clean the foal a soft whicker was released to her new daughter, harks flicked to catch anything coming there way. When the foal was clean in her books meant not a spot was left untouched, she nudged her daughter and cleaned up the spot around them. She had the perfect name for her daughter, Saoirse, she spoke softly to her she was such a beautiful little filly. Now all Aphrodite wanted was Crusader to get here.

His head came up and he pricked her ears as he heard Aphrodite’s call in the distant. Her called sounded different somehow…he flicked his tail across his flanks before setting off at a anxious trot towards the stream. His ear flicked again as he slowed his gait slightly as his nostrils picked up the scent of another equine. He snorted, he could tell Aphrodite was around, but who was the other equine? He hurried over until he closer to the stream then he saw Aphrodite and the filly at her side. After a few seconds, the realization hit him. This was Aphrodite’s foal! He ears immediately came forward as he lowered his head to sniff the filly then he looked at Aphrodite Aphrodite she’s beautiful He spoke ,raising his head

Aphrodite watched as he came in and then it must have hit him that this was there foal. She smiled as he sniffed her and then spoke his comment. I know she is beautiful and she is all ours. She stepped forward and nudged Crusader and then nuzzled his cheek, one could tell she was exhausted but she was putting up a good front against it. She stepped back and gave there daughter a nudge, she stepped near Crusader, Saoirse met your father. She spoke softly, the filly looked up at him and the stepped back hiding behind Aphrodite, she smiled and then lowered her crown and propped a hoof and closed her eyes, she need a nap.

He flicked his tail across his flanks, this was his daughter! His one and only child. A content sigh escaped his maw as he gazed at the filly then he smiled again as the filly hid behind her mother. Saoirse He said softly, moving aside slightly so that he could get a better look at his daughter. He then switched his gaze to Aphrodite She is just as beautiful as you Aphrodite he spoke to the bay equine before nickering again quietly to his daughter
